Checking In with Fleshbot Award Winner Maitland Ward

Congrats To Maitland!

Vixen Media Group contract superstar Maitland Ward just took home the Fleshbot Award for Best Social Media Personality and yeah, if you don't follow her on Twitter, you officially now should. Ward has a brand new scene coming out on the Blacked website on Saturday that we all have to look forward to but damn, her Deeper work makes me really fucking happy, along with everyone else in the damn universe loving the fuck out of it all. She is nominated for a whole bunch of AVN and XBIZ Awards at the January shows and here is what she had to tell me about her world at present.

Hello, Maitland! Congrats on winning the Fleshbot Award for Best Social Media Personality! How does it feel to win that award?

"Thank you so much! I’m so excited and honored to receive this award. Being recognized by Fleshbot and my fans in this way truly warms my heart. You guys have always been so supportive of me at Fleshbot and I so appreciate it. I promise more fun on my social media platforms in the year to come."

What do you love most about the communication that you have on social media with your fans?
"I would not be where I am today if it hadn’t been for social media and for my fans. They believed in my brand and my vision when mainstream wouldn’t embrace me or recognize my potential for it. I feel I’ve really grown along the way with them. I love the way we get to interact and how I can show them my true personality. I love being goofy as well as daring and provocative with the more sexy stuff. I can’t thank them enough for always showing up and supporting me. They are fiercely loyal and I love them so much for it."

What influence do you most want to have on people with your social media accounts? What do they all mean to you?
"I hope to not only I entertain, because that’s what I love to do, but to also be a voice for the sex worker community. There are so many stigmas and ways social media and the world at large try to oppress this industry that if I in some way can be a voice mainstream will listen to, it would make me proud."

Mistress Maitland is an excellent award nominated exploration into power exchange and BDSM. What did you learn about your own limits making that movie?
"I absolutely love the character and I’m so proud that this project is being so recognized and well received. Kayden [Kross] pushed my limits as a performer, and an actor, in this and I loved every minute of it. The fact that Mistress is so unapologetic in all that she does is so fun to play. She’s so twisted and devious but I think she’s someone you love because of how she plays the games she plays, and how she gets away with her delicious crimes. I absolutely love playing with power exchange and Mistress Maitland was all about that. And each form of power exchange is something new and unexpected to whoever she’s toying with. I’m really excited we’re planning a Mistress Maitland 2 this year. She’s not through with you yet! "

Your group sex scene with Adriana Chechik in Muse is truly epic. What about do you love most about that group sex dynamic? 
"Thank you! It was so much fun working with Adriana. She’s got such a phenomenal energy that it gave me so much to play off of. I drank so much of her squirt, I was well hydrated for the day! That was hot and fun. Group sex is really exciting because there’s always an element of surprise around every corner, and it’s different with each person in the mix. There are different personalities and physiques to have fun with. There’s so much going on, and so much excitement, it’s like you’re on the best and wildest amusement park ride. Especially when you get to work with top talent, like I did in this scene. One minute I was riding Isiah [Maxwell], the next I was going down on Adriana. It was fantastic!"

What do you have in common with your character in Muse? How is she most like you? 
"I think there are a lot of elements of me in her and vice versa. We intentionally play a lot to the fact that she deals with fame and paparazzi due to her high profile, provocative work in her past. We see she has a hard time escaping what made her who she is. Not that she’s trapped. Far from it. I love that she is this strong, authentic, badass but she’s also vulnerable and a bit broken hearted. The range of emotions I got to play was such a welcome challenge for me as an actor. Kayden is so masterful writing to my strengths, and then also really challenging me. I can’t wait to see where Muse 2 takes my character. She’s very different from my character in Mistress Maitland, but they’re both strong, formidable women who are always playing a game in life they want to win."

What are your plans for the holidays? Do you have any favorite traditions this time of year?
"Like everyone this year, it’ll be a smaller holiday than most. My husband and my dogs will be cuddling by the tree and watching Christmas movies, I’m sure. But I don’t ever stop traditions. The house is fully decorated and I’ll make my Swedish grandmother’s fudge. I also always hide a pickle in the tree. Whoever finds it gets a prize. This year it might just be my chihuahua, though."

What is coming up for you? What should your fans be on the lookout for?
"Muse 2 will be coming soon, along with some other exciting projects. And I’m looking forward to creating some projects of my own for Deeper and the Vixen brands, too. 2021 is going to be a big year."

Is there anything that you would like to say to your fans here at Fleshbot?
"Thank you so much for your love and support. I’m constantly blown away by your generosity and love. You are the reason I do all of this. I can’t thank you enough. I promise there is so much fun in store for 2021! Stay tuned!"
