Twenty Questions with Trans Porn Star Chelsea Poe

Chelsea Poe is the current muse of queer porn producer/director Courtney Trouble and Poe is all set up to be the Laverne Cox of the queer porno world. With Poe's intelligence, poise and hard performances, Poe can bridge a gap for many porn fans and bring about a new erotic understanding.  Poe is amazing as the star of the Trouble Films feature "Fucking Mystic" available now on DVD and VOD.  It's a feature about Poe as a trans person discovering mystical, sexual powers about herself that she didn't know that she had and it is some sexy, powerful stuff.  Here are Poe's answers to twenty questions.

1) What were you like back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?

I was super into metal/hardcore in high school so I was kind of that kid who wore black everyday with inverted crosses. All my friends also played in metal bands and really instead of going to most school events I spent my high school years at punk venues every friday and skipped prom to see AFI.

2) Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry? Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies?

I was extremely late to getting into watching porn. I honestly didn't watch my first porn scene until I was nearly 18 and first got introduced to Sasha Grey and started learning more about her which then introduced to queer performers like Jiz Lee and Courtney Trouble. Still Sasha Grey is by far my biggest influence and I think my performing style of doing a lot of threesomes and orgy shoots is because of getting into porn from watching Sasha Grey.

3) What do you think shaped you into the woman that we see in your porno?

I think being in a punk scene in a really small midwestern town where you had people always never quite getting what your doing really influenced me as a porn performer to truly not care if not everyone gets my performances. I really think my early introduction in porn was a mixture of Sasha Grey with her intense gangbangs and the diy ethic of queer porn with sites like Crash Pad Series and Indie Porn Revolution so I think that comes across in my performances.

4) What/who do you want to do on-camera that you haven’t done yet?

I really want to try to bring what I'm doing to a more mainstream level where you see trans queer performers working with mainstream lesbian companies. I really feel like I am a lesbian performer who just simply doesn't fit into the current mold of lesbian porn and that is really the next place I want my career to go.

5) Who is your favorite male/female/trans performer to work with and why?

My favorite male performer to work with is B. Nefarious we have a really great natural chemistry and really can feel like I can give my all when performing with him. My favorite female performer to work with thus far was Daisy Ducati or Andre Shakti they are extremely physical performers and I really feel like working with either of them really pushes my performance to their level and they are just really talented performers. My favorite trans woman I ever worked with was Azure Monro I never really shot with anyone who has sex just like I do being a trans woman and liking to bottom with fingers, dildos and strap ons so whenever I work with her it just comes super natural.

6) You respond to your fans a lot on Twitter. Tell me how reaching your fans through the internet has changed things for you.

Social Media has been a really great tool for me. Its really allowed me to be more than just a performer and really get on the activism side of things. I think its extremely important for trans women to talk about their sexual experiences rather that be on film or in the bedroom and being outspoken I think leads to more demystifying of trans women's sexuality.

7) What’s your favorite position to get fucked in and why does it get you off?

I really really like doggy style because I just feel the most anally in that position and its just a really hot angle. It also is great when you are in a 3 some then you can also be giving someone oral or engaging some other sexual act with another person and still get fucked super hard.

8) What did you love most about making “Fucking Mystic”?

I really loved the sense of community that there is in Oakland that I really discovered when filming where most of the queer porn world had some sort of role in the making of "Fucking Mystic". I truly feel like what is happening porn wise in Oakland is really special and I think "Fucking Mystic" is a prime example of this.

9) What do you love most about working with Courtney Trouble?

Courtney Trouble is one of my biggest influences who just so happened to become one of my best friends and my porn mentor. They really believed in me and has such a indepth knowledge of porn but still has a very diy ethic to their work which I really connected to. The greatest thing about working with Courtney is they literally have some of the best ideas when it comes to film making and performing that most directors wouldn't dare to try.

10) What are the best things about being a porn star? How has it made your life more fulfilling?

The best thing about doing porn is the ability to wake up every morning and have a job I truly love and know I'm making a positive impact on the trans community. Getting to travel all around the country for work has been a dream come true and all the amazing people who I have met during those trips.

11) What do you think is your hottest scene to date?

I think my hottest scene is actually coming out soon Its part of" Seven Minutes in Heaven 4" where Joey Minx and Emerald take turns sitting on my face and fucking me with a strap on while making out over the top of me. I think my gangbang/orgy scene from "Fucking Mystic" is a close second.

12) What do you most want to accomplish as a porn star?

My biggest goal as a porn performer is to normalize trans women's sexuality and trans bodies so we aren't thought of as a niche or fetish. I think pushing for inclusion within mainstream porn is the only real way to do that and that is the biggest thing I hope I can help accomplish.

13) What do you like to do for fun?

I feel like my biggest love at this point in my life is porn which is truly great to have my biggest passion at the moment being my job but besides porn I really love music and am looking to get back into recording/playing music in some capacity.

14) What else is coming up for you?

I'm shooting a lot of three/more somes and really hoping to focus on more hardcore style scenes. I feel like its largely something that hasn't been done for trans women in porn then I also go into Purgatory to become the first trans God's Girl later this month.

15) What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?

I am really in love with the Hunger Games series but besides that I am super into documentaries to the point where I watch around 4 to 5 a week. 

16) How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?

My favorite porn movie is "Prima Ballerina" featuring Coral Aorta and Siouxsie Q its extremely pretty yet at the same time super filthy and super queer.  I am a really big Stoya fan. I think she is a truly amazing performer and I can never get enough of her.

17) Are you into toys to get yourself off alone or are you more low-tech?

I sometimes use a dildo but when I'm just masturbating alone it's pretty low tech.

18) If you could fuck any celebrity, who would it be? Give us your male and female choices.

My male choice would be Davey Havok. My Female choice would be Angel Haze or Dita Von Tease.

19) What would you most like to change about trans porn overall?

I would really like to change the way trans women are depicted and marketed within mainstream trans porn. So many sites use the narrative of trans women having to trick men or seduce women (or relating it to hunting) then uses terms the trans community considers slurs in its marketing. I think the industry needs to wake up to effect this is having on the trans community at large.

20) Is there anything you want to say to your fans here at Fleshbot?

I would really like to thank the fans who have supported my work. It is really amazing to hear back from trans people who may have never bought a DVD before mine because they never found any porn they could relate to.
