Twenty Questions with Courtney Trouble

Voluptuous feminist director/producer Courtney Trouble stars in Aiden Starr's latest for Evil Angel "Curvy Casting Couch", which just became available on DVD and VOD September 15th.  Trouble stays hella busy helming her own company--Trouble Films--so to see her just relaxing and getting herself off without the cares of production or pleasing anyone but herself ....well, Starr was super-smart to cast her this way.  Trouble has a lot coming out in the next few months so this is a really fun time to check in.  Here are her answers to twenty questions.

1) What kind of girl were you back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?

I was a total riot grrrl. I almost got expelled from my high school for self-publishing a feminist zine for teens, but then I ended up in college as a teenager and working as the music editor for my college paper. I interviewed bands like Bratmobile and the Gossip and took pictures of their shows for my column. I was like, that really smart girl who went bad cuz she got bored with the status quo.

2) Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry? Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies?

I got into the industry right when i was 18, my only real exposure to porn was what playboy magazine and penthouse had to offer, or the free clips i could find on the very early internet. i liked alt porn. i wanted to be a suicide girl but they didn’t (and still don't) accept girls my size. it’s hard for me to say i had favorites back then, but belladonna clearly comes to mind as someone I sought out hard core. still do!

3) What/who do you want to do on-camera that you haven’t done yet?

I really want to do a boy/girl/girl with April Flores! I imagine i would be super toppy and maybe make him eat me out or suck on a strap on while she rode him and did her amazing April-Flores-ness.

4) Who is your favorite male performer/female performer to work with and why?

As a performer, my favorite costars have been April Flores, Billy Castro, Jiz Lee, Sinn Sage, Papi Coxx, Karla Lane, Chelsea Poe, and Maxine Holloway. I think that’s the same answer from a director’s pont of view as well. those are my main muses in love, life, and art.

5) You seem to really love your fans and respond to them a lot on Twitter. Tell me how having this fan base has changed your life.

I’ve always been the kind of person who talks to strangers on the internet, so for me talking to my fans just feels like something i’ve always done. it’s in larger numbers now but I still just see everyone as a potential new friend, collaborator, etc. I like finding out what my fans are good at and giving them tips. one of my fans is a street artist (astrotwitch) and they paint me and my photographs! I have people who started as fans and now are my best friends, dates, employees, etc. I try to see them as people and not notches on my belt.

6) What’s your favorite position to get fucked in and why does it get you off?

Depends on who is fucking me, but lately i’ve been into the bent-over-the-bed action with hair pulling and pulled back arms! So dirty.

7) You do a great solo scene in “Curvy Casting Couch”. What about the scene did you enjoy most?

The cupcake sheets and all the crazy toys that Aiden let me play with. I felt like a grown up spoiled little girl with all the toys in the world.

8) What is it like working with director Aiden Starr?

A dream come true, who would ever say anything else? She’s a fucking genius and an incredibly sensitive and intuitive director. Inspiring on so many levels. I really want to perform with her too, beyond the pervy POV action we got into on set for Curvy Casting Couch!

9) What are the best things about being a porn star?

Working naked and snuggling with other hot naked people. Building friendships and work relationships around such intimate material is really profound. You get to best friend status really, really fast when you’re all naked, sweaty, and happy.

10) What do you think is your hottest scene overall?

I’m really riding high on my “first boy/girl” with FTM porn superstar Billy Castro. He’s my real life platonic husband/BFF and we were laughing the whole time, except for the part where he was fucking the shit out of me with his hands around my neck. Then we were just cumming. that scene’s the highlight of my new film "Courtney Trouble Fan Club #1"

11) What advice would you give a woman who wanted to be better at pleasing her sexual partner?

I’m so selfish, I wanna say she should focus on her own pleasure! LOL! But really, I find that eye contact and sweet whispers are a great way to connect, check in, keep it hot, and get ideas for what to do next in bed. I think that goes for any one of any gender.

12) What do you most want to achieve in the adult industry?

I really, really, really want to win an AVN Award.

13) Who are your role models in porn and how/why do they inspire you?

I think again, April Flores, because she’s just such an all-around great industry icon. As a performer she’s so tapped in to her own sexual energy and performance abilities, and behind the scenes she’s so open to new ideas and projects. She’s so inspiring. I’ve learned a lot from working with her.

14) What is coming up for you as a director/producer?

I’m releasing more movies in the next two weeks than I have in all of 2013. TROUBLEfilms is taking flight in a major way. Fucking Mystic, Lesbian Curves, FTM Fucker, Courtney Trouble Fan Club… And then, my directorial debut with SMASH Pictures titled San Francisco Lesbians (a great story about a lesbian hook-up app called SCISSR) comes out next week too… And of course my websites just keep going and going and going…. 15) What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?

The Only Lovers Left Alive!!!

16) How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?

I adore Bonnie Rotten’s gangbang films. And Dana Vespoli’s directorial work. Sinn Sage.

17) Are you into toys to get yourself off alone or are you a low-tech woman?

I love toys. I own about 100 silicone cocks and maybe 15 different styles of strap on harnesses? I think that’s my main obsession. But of course, I have to add the Hitachi to whatever I do. I’m a sex toy cyborg. I also don’t quite identify as a woman. I’m OK with the term “girl” because I’ve always been a riot grrrl and I’m also a “little” (into age play with a teenage femme persona). 19) What is coming up for you?

OMG So much I can’t even contain it. I have performances coming out in the following films, which are all being released in September: Curvy Casting Couch (Evil Angel), Lesbian Curves 3: Soft Girls + Strap Ons (TROUBLEfilms), Courtney Trouble Fan Club #1 (TROUBLEfilms), San Francisco Lesbians: SCISSR Sex App (SMASH Pictures), and Fucking Mystic (TROUBLEfilms). I’m also traveling to Berlin for the Berlin Porn Film Festival in October, and I’m about to start post-production on a web and film series with April Flores that I can’t reveal yet! There’s also way more movies coming out. Just so much.
