Twenty Questions with Veruca James

1) What kind of girl were you back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?

I went to an all girl Catholic high school. I always loved school and earned good grades. I took AP and college classes while I was in high school in hopes of lessening my class load when I went to college. I wasn’t a “nerd” though; the majority of girls in the school were very focused and motivated. While I didn’t enjoy the religious aspect of school, I do appreciate the confidence and encouragement the all girl environment provided. I played soccer, and was involved in some other clubs. On the weekends I would hang out with my friends and the boys from our brother school or the public school boys. Most of the boys I dated lived at least 20-30 minutes away, so I really only saw them on the weekends.

2) Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry? Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies?

I didn’t really watch much porn before I got into the industry. When I was growing up, porn wasn’t as easily accessible on the Internet like it is now. Most of what I had seen was magazines or scrambled cable. :)

3) What/who do you want to do on-camera that you haven’t done yet?

I don’t really have any “firsts” left, I’ve always done what I wanted and didn’t hold back. I got into porn because I love sex, so I really never had any incentive to not do a type of scene that I wanted. There are lots of performers I haven’t worked with yet and would like to, as well as, lots of performers I want to work with again. :) I’ve found that every time I think, “I’ve seen it all,” I find myself in a scene I would have never expected with things happening I couldn’t have imagined. That’s the beauty of being a performer, no two scenes are identical and there is always a new adventure to be had.

4) Who is your favorite male performer/female performer to work with and why?

I don’t state favorites because I always end up forgetting people and feeling guilty. I also have different favorites for different types of scenes.

5) You seem to really love your fans and respond to your very large fan base a lot on Twitter. Tell me how having this fan base has changed your life.

I do love interacting with my fans! There are so many interesting people out there, with different ideas and fantasies. I’ve been blessed with an incredibly supportive, respectful and kind fan base.

6) What’s your favorite position to get fucked in and why does it get you off?

A lot of times it just depends on my mood. I really like positions that have a lot of skin-to-skin contact or where someone has access to grabbing my hips. I love the feeling of strong hands griping my hips while I’m fucked, missionary, doggy, spoon. I also really love being fucked from behind while laying flat on my stomach. 7) What directors/studios have you most enjoyed working for most so far?

8) What are the best things about being a porn star?

My favorite thing is the ability to financially support myself doing something I love.

9) You really bring a lot of strong sexual energy to your performances. How did you evolve into the performer that you are today?

I’m a very sexual person naturally, so when I’m on camera, I try to focus on being myself and figuring out what turns on my partner. I’ve learned a lot about myself personally and sexually since I began performing. I try to be very self aware and embrace change when it happens.

10) What do you think is your hottest scene overall?

If I could only pick one and I picked one I thought would be most universally appealing, it would be my DP scene with James Deen and Ramon [Nomar] in “Wet Asses 2” for Jules Jordan directed by William H.

11) Congrats on those nominations for your work at last year’s AVN Awards. What is the best thing about being nominated?

Thank you! A nomination is recognition for a job well done, everyone appreciates that. :)

12) Your Kink.com scenes are truly amazing stuff. Is that BDSM play something you did/do in your personal sex life or is that just for the cameras?

I didn’t really have any experience with BDSM play in my personal life before I began performing. Most of my BDSM play now is on camera, but I do play a little in my personal life now.

13) Who are your role models in porn and how/why do they inspire you?

I’m inspired by the performers with dynamic careers and interests, who are constantly finding new ways to build their brand.

14) What do you most want to achieve as a porn star?

I’m achieving it every day, happiness in doing what I love and living for myself. I’ve worked in the corporate world, I know I can be successful there, I know I could make a lot of money there, but I wouldn’t be happy.

15) What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?

I recently watched “No Country for Old Men,” that was awesome!

16) How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?

I don’t think I’ve ever sat down and watched a whole porno movie. Every once in a while I’ll check out a gonzo scene, but it’s always someone I don’t know. I get distracted if I know the person. I like amateur stuff most.

17) Are you into toys to get yourself off alone or are you a low-tech woman?

Hitachi or hands, that’s it. I don’t really care for dildos.

18) If you could fuck any celebrity, who would it be? Give us your male and female choices.

19) What is coming up for you?
