Now On Demand: Lindsay Burge Crosses The Line As “A Teacher”

Lindsay Burge plays Diana Watts, a young teacher at a Texan high school who finds herself increasingly isolated from the world around her. Her only comfort is a budding relationship with one of her students, a cocky playboy senior, and as Diana tries to regain her youthful sexuality and adapt to her lover's fantasies, she loses control of her life. Sure, Lindsay stays in her underwear for this scene, but you don't need nudity to appreciate the heat and tension in this scene. Plus, you can tell a lot about their dynamic from what goes on here: note the calmness in his voice as he tells his teacher to strip, her nearly imperceptible moment of acknowledgment as she begins unbuttoning, their shared silence, the hand she uses to steady herself as her pants come off.

"A Teacher" doesn't hit theaters until September 6th, but it's available today (yes, today!) through your local on-demand provider as well as iTunes and all those lovely digital distributors. If you're not watching "A Teacher" for your love of taboo relationships and psycho-sexual dramas, then you should check it out to peep what writer/director/producer Hannah Fidell has put together. She's been picking up prizes and accolades left and right (including being named one of Filmmaker Magazine's 25 New Faces of Independent Film) and it's never too soon to jump on this young visionary's bandwagon.
