You may remember Melissa Makeup from that time she gave us some beauty tips, or–more likely–from that viral gallery showing pornstars before and after being made up. If you’re like us, you wanted to know a little more about the artist, her methods and her madness, so here’s a short documentary about Melissa Makeup!

This right here is really unusual but also a real treat. Jonathan Harris spent ten days following around nine different women, attaching himself to each for about twenty-four solid hours, and took ten-second video clips every five minutes. The resulting six hours of footage is now online in an interactive interface and it’s hands-down one of the coolest documentaries we’ve ever seen.

The cool thing/problem about the beginning of a new year is that everything seems significant. What kind of stuff will you first watch on Netflix this year? Something educational to start 2013 off on a thoughtful note, or something goofy and raunchy to soothe your still-throbbing head? We’re going with both.

What do you know about Nick Manning? He likes to say “Droppin’ Loads,” sure, but what else? Nothing. That’s a damn shame really, because we just watched a few minutes of a documentary about the guy, and he is a fascinating, freaky, and hilarious character. His life is a constant struggle to reconcile his impressive porn career with his deep-rooted love of God and Jesus Christ. Also, he’s about as famous as Pauly Shore. Rough times.

A little something you should know about us: we’re all about getting your blood flowing, and the one organ we really want to make swell is your brain. (We don’t want to inflame it, of course. This is figurative.) There’s nothing more attractive than a mind that’s just throbbing with smarts, save for a mind that’s well-educated on sex and human sexuality. Hopefully you’ll find that the following movies and TV shows get you hot under the collar and around your gray matter.

The ever-thoughtful Jiz Lee recently called our attention to a fledgling documentary called “Born Into Porn,” about the thoughts surrounding/the struggles faced by adult industry professionals raising children. It’s a heavy topic that deserves to be explored, and this project definitely deserves our help.
