I’m heading back to the airport to hop back on a plane for San Francisco.

Last night was a blur of friendly faces and happy, sexy people. I’m so proud to be a part of it, to watch it grow, to watch it reach people. To watch it inspire and influence ideas.

I don’t know how I got so lucky. Not only did Fleshbot’s very own Editor and Publisher Lux Alptraum invite me to blog for JIZ WEEK; she also agreed to strip down and bare it all for my charity porn project, Karma Pervs.

Last night, a theater full of Toronto’s finest (and a handful of sexy out-of-towners) sat in a beautifully renovated theater watching clips from four panelists: Nenna, Buck Angel, N Maxwell Lander, and Erika Lust. Scenes explored explicit sexuality spanning gender, orientation, race and cinematic styles. What followed was a panel and audience Q&A moderated by CoCo La Creme which addressed the pornographers’ thoughts on how they incorporate feminist ideals and narratives into their work, how they cast their projects, their obstacles and accomplishments, thoughts on artistic merit, and deconstructions of patriarchal themes. It was both enlightening to hear the directors’ contemplation, and left much food for thought.

Tonight is the Feminist Porn Awards’ screening event, “Public. Provocative. Porn. The Year’s Best in Feminist Film”.

I know a gal who loves porn. She works at San Francisco’s sex toy retailer Good Vibrations and her passion is erotic cinema. On any given day you’ll find her enthusiastically making recommendations for everything from the adult industry’s most acclaimed flicks to the most niche of pervy moving pictures. When met with skeptical exclamations that porn is either evil–or boring–she’ll simply protest: “Shush. You just haven’t found one you like!”

My first Feminist Porn Awards was also the first time I traveled outside the USA by myself. (There’s a hundred good things doing porn has brought to me, and travel (or at least getting over my fear of travel) is one of them.) 

I’m working on an eBook anthology that will present several different looks at coming out — or NOT — about pornography, from the point of view of porn performers, producers, videographers, photographers, and other people in the industry.

I’m off to Toronto for the Feminist Porn Awards, presented by Canadian feminist sex toy store Good For Her. I’ve made the trip each year to celebrate the accomplishments of my peers and network with folks who are making and marketing alternative visions of sex.

Here’s a sneak peek at the latest “Karma Pervs” photo set. I’m kind of infatuated by it.

But first, what is “Karma Pervs”? In a nutshell, it’s my experimental philanthropic erotic art project, where I raise money for various non-profits and charities that are sex-positive, queer or kink-friendly. I collaborate with photographers and fellow models to create images, and upload the photo sets to my membership site on JizLee.com where people can donate to view. It’s 100% volunteer and 100% inspiring.

Anna Anthropy, a dot-matrix dominatrix and badass trans artdyke, created a flash-based game describing her experience beginning hormones. While it does not represent the experiences of every trans person, as Anna explains, it is a story about six months in her life after making the decision to start hormone replacement therapy and begin taking estrogen.

Do you remember Dirty Found? I loved that magazine, a seedy assortment of hidden sexuality; though I think the “joke” was to shame those who had lost the keepsake or private materials of a sordid encounter, the honest beauty of revealing proof or desire of sexual escapades captured my imagination as a youth.

Not too long ago, I wrote a post about the diversity of vulvas from the book I’ll Show You Mine, which offered stories and explicit images of each participant’s vulva. Like other picture books on genitalia, it’s a landmark towards sex-positive body image and proof that more needs to exist.

My Words With Friends are few and far between these days…

The new procrastination game is Draw Something, which when played among friends is hilarious, and when played with strangers gives me hope in humanity. (Unless of course they WRITE THE FUCKING WORD in which case they can go to hell. WHY would someone DO that!?!)

Jiz here. Looks like I’ve got a week of guest spots here on Fleshbot.com and I aim to please. It’s been a crazy month for me juggling my fulltime day job with my part-time Jiz biz. It’s involved a lot of traveling, and finishing up my role as Ritchie Valens in Rob Fatal’s “La Bamba 2: Hell is a Drag” which premiers next week in San Francisco.
