Checking In with Girlfriends Films’ “Alien Rhapsody” Director Serene Siren

PORNSTARS

Alien Heat!

Girlfriends Films' new sci-fi feature "Alien Rhapsody" directed by Serene Siren is out now and it is cool and absolutely engrossing. Here's what Siren had to say about her latest directorial effort.

Hello, Serene! How are you? How are things going?
"Things are going pretty good! As you know, it’s a bit of a scary time for the world with all this COVID-19 pandemic panic. I also just got all four of my wisdom teeth removed which was not a fun experience! I’m still all swollen from it. Other than that, things are amazing. I’ve just finished my twelfth movie for Girlfriends Films - that’s 48 steamy sexy amazing lesbian scenes! I’m amazed at how fast the time flown by, but I know why; I’m having a blast writing and directing all these gorgeous girls into hot lovemaking."

Congrats on the release of Alien Rhapsody! How does it feel to have it out there in the world?
"Thank you! It feels amazing to have Alien Rhapsody out there for the globe to see. It’s my first mystery thriller feature, and I’m excited to see what people think. It was well received at GirlfriendsFilms.com streaming, and I’m looking forward to seeing how well the DVD does on sites such as HotMovies.com, AVN.Com, Fleshbot.com, etc.."

What inspired you to write the script for this?

"I was told I had to do something serious, something that wasn’t too goofy, and something that was unique. I’d been wanting to do an alien theme for a while, but we don’t have much of a makeup budget — so I couldn’t do some of the more elaborate themes I had in mind. When I was given the parameters, I was also given a pretty quick deadline. Thus, I had to go with something that wasn’t too complicated but that had an intriguing storyline. This particular storyline I drew from my younger days watching X-Files. I wanted there to be a twist, so just by dwelling on the character I had created, I came up with more details to entice the viewers such as intoxicating DNA and murder."

How did you choose to cast the movie? How do you feel that the actors did in this role?
"This movie was actually cast before I got it. I had to win the producer over with my script before I could actually direct the movie. He wasn’t sure if I could do something dark, like he wanted. So when the deadline came up, I was only on page 16 (the entire script ended up being 28 pages after editing). He told me he would know if it was worthy by the first couple pages. I nervously pressed print like a pre-term birth, and waited eagerly as I directed a different movie during the day. When I saw that I had Lacy [Lennon] for two days in a row, I knew I could write a deep script. She is a gifted actress and her abilities really shine in this movie. She’s excellent at embracing the character and bringing to the life the dark and the light in the script."

What is your favorite scene in Alien Rhapsody?
"The entire lead up to the first sex scene and the first death. That entire beginning scene was excellent! Lacy was just phenomenal in her role, and it was really cool to see the actresses get into their various parts. My favorite scene was the lead up with Lacy alone, in her anguish and in her re-animation as alien-human-hybrid. Just watching her excel in this depth of acting was a huge inspiration! She worked so hard to make sure this movie turned out fascinating. I loved her dedication, despite the coldness and lateness of the night, she fought through the challenges to give us an epic performance."

What do you love most about making a movie in the sci-fi genre?
"I’ve always been a huge sci-fi fan, and thought it was fun to explore this side of my creativity. I enjoyed the ability to be interplanetary in the plot line. I love that doing something fiction opens up so many more possibilities in regards to how “reality” can be stretched. I’ve always enjoyed the idea of portals and space odysseys. This was our first ever “horror” style movie, so Marcus London, Mickey Charms, and I were on our toes the entire time. It was a small crew, with no PA, just the girls, the two camera guys, and I working the third camera and directing. It was a rather intimate experience that heightened the eerie sexuality of the sci-fi thriller we created!"

What do you love most about working for Girlfriends Films?
"The ability to create what I want, how I see it. The small crew size. The cleanliness of the sets. The ability to make the sets the way I want. I like how much fun we have on set. We all get along. It feels like camaraderie, or teamwork at its finest. We are all newbies at creating movies, but we are being overseen by one of the world’s best pornographers, B.Skow. He’s been giving me such amazing advice; I love being an apprentice and seeing how to entertain the masses. I really enjoy the writing outlet, and how much fun it is to see the ladies act out my words. Each scene is so different, each pairing is a new vision. Sometimes I get the pairs just right and it’s like the most magical thing anyone can ever see; two stars passionately fucking in bliss! Other times, I’m disappointed because the girls just don’t hit it off or they don’t have any energy. The best part is that I am able to have my hands in so many aspects of making the movies. I can help cast, I do the writing, I do the directing, I double check the edited versions and often find errors that save the scenes! Sometimes things still slip by and I get roasted for it later. Such is the learning process. I think that’s why I like most about working for them is that they let me learn and grow. I think it’s so much fun to work around gorgeous women all the time! Best job ever!"

Do you think that we as a species are alone in the universe? Do you believe that aliens have been here to earth already?
"Hmmm… I think it is best if I sit this one out. I feel as though people already treat me as a conspiracy theorist. Best to let them wonder if I think this is all real or not."

What else is coming up for you? What would you like your fans to be on the lookout for?
"I have a couple more movies coming out soon; Bad Lesbians 12 and Twisted Passions 28 that are both really solid good movies. I hope that everyone enjoys them. At the current moment, I’m laying low healing from my wisdom teeth. Most of my upcoming work has been shut down due to coronavirus/COVID19 scares, so I am not sure what’s next on the plate. I do have some exciting announcements with new personal content I’ll be selling! Also, I am Luv of The Month for All Her Luv, so I think everyone should entertain their socially-distanced selves with some of my sexy lesbian scenes on their site."

Is there anything that you would like to say to your fans here at Fleshbot?
"As always, it’s a pleasure to have you as fans, listeners, reviewers, followers. I really do appreciate your input and you paying for your porn! Now more than ever, tip your favorite sex-workers. Buy their customs, subscribe to their pay sites, buy something from their wishlist, or RT their pinned posts. It doesn’t take much to be an interactive and incredible fan that wins the hearts of your favorite stars. It takes fans that know how to spoil us to keep us feeling sexy, wanted, and motivated!"
