Paul Thomas Anderson Talks About The Birth of "Boogie Nights"
Director Paul Thomas Anderson appears on the most recent episode of The Nerdist Podcast. The episode is hosted by Chris Hardwick and Jonah Ray and Anderson is there to talk about his latest movie "Phantom Thread" which stars the very hot Vicky Krieps and Gina McKee.
Anderson is a pretty fantastic director and who can blame Hardwick and Ray for wanting to talk about his epic 90's movie about the Golden Age of porn "Boogie Nights"?
Well, Anderson talks about the origin of "Boogie Nights" which was a short film called "The Dirk Diggler Story" which was only ever distributed on VHS by Anderson himself. Anderson talks about shooting "The Dirk Diggler Story" in a motel room in Studio City, California when he was only 17 years old and he shares how completely fascinated he was with porn for a while. Courtesy of the Internet, you can check out that short film below. It's an interesting movie, for sure.
