I couldn’t have a boyfriend while I was a student. The song is about my broken heart. It’s a very sad song but I did not have any idea why I was so sad, because I never had a boyfriend at the time. I wanted to know how beautiful life could be and that I could cry for somebody and not myself. It is beautiful and similar to smiling for somebody else. So, I always listened to the music and fantasized about somebody who I will be together with in the future.

"Automatic" by Hikaru Utada: She is a Japanese singer, but she grew up in the USA. Her voice, dancing, and personality were very American. She’s not shy like me. I feel her songs are so strong (especially this one) and, she’s my idol.

"Tsukematsukeru" by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu: Listen to her music- watch her music video! Her music has almost no meaning and is nonsense, but she’s so cute. This song always makes me smile.

"Dangerous Woman" by Ariana Grande: I really don’t know about American songs. It’s still difficult to understand English in a song but, I use this song a lot in my feature dancing shows. Then, I realized about what she meant about being strong and sexy. I grew up in Japan, so sometimes I’m very shy and weak but, sometimes a woman needs to be strong! It makes her more attractive and sexy.

"More Than Words" by Extreme: This is my first English song I ever heard. I could understand the meaning and I really love their beautiful sound!
