#TBT Uschi Digard in "Truck Stop Women"

They Really Don't Make 'Em Like They Used To

As I get older, I find myself using the phrase "they don't make 'em like they used to" more often than I'd like to admit. And while most of the time when someone says that it isn't really true, every so often they really don't make them like they used to. For example, Truck Stop Women (1974) is a movie they really don't make anymore and they really don't make them like Uschi Digard anymore, either.

Sure, there are some attempts made to revive or simply relive the joys of the 1970s campy, boob, butt, and bush B movies, but they really aren't the same. I mean, this is seriously the plot of the movie:

A mother and daughter who run a brothel for truckers fight back when the Mafia tries to take over their operation.
I just want you to take a minute and imagine someone walking into a Senior Vice President of Production's office at a major motion picture studio and pitching Truck Stop Women. They'd probably be escorted off the lot by security. And even if someone did agree to make a movie like that, is there really another Uschi Digard out there?
You know, I might have answered my question as to why there aren't any nudity-filled, campfest B movies anymore - there's only one Uschi Digard. Sure, that fact is a little sad, but thankfully we can always remember her and her great full frontal career. You know, they really don't make 'em like they used to.
