It was used in a 1942 film during the war called "Orchestra Wives". The song caused such a sensation that students at Kalamazoo College actually elected a "Gal in Kalamazoo". Her name was Sara Woolley. The papers described her as a "a dazzling dark-eyed beauty who became queen of the campus when men students of the campus got together to choose, for once and for all, the girl who is the toast of Kalamazoo." Anywho, she went on to become a celebrity and received a lot of fan mail from the men overseas during that time and her influence allowed her to sell war bonds.

"I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair" from the musical "South Pacific": Just like the song, I've had to wash a couple men out of my hair because they were a complete waste of time. That's why I only stick to dating women.

"Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" by Marilyn Monroe: From my favorite Marilyn Monroe movie, "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", it helped to idealize the thought of diamonds representing the grandest stage of romance. I mean, who doesn't love diamonds?

"Ballerina" by Vaughn Monroe: I love this song because I did ballet for awhile and it just shows a good representation of love, however you want to portray it!
