Celebgate Rolls On
Fortune is reporting that the U.S. Justice Department filed charges last week against a Chicago man for his role in the infamous hacking incident related to celebrities’ email accounts, including those of Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton.
Edward Majerczyk is going to plead guilty over using “spear-phishing” to obtain the log-ins for more than five hundred different Gmail and iCloud accounts. The attacks used fake emails pretending to be from Apple or Google which made the account holders provide their passwords. Thirty of those five hundred people are called "celebrities" by the FBI, and celebrity or not, no one deserves to be treated like that. Majercyyk used the user names and passwords to access people's private videos and photos. He is facing up to five years in a federal prison for doing this and he is the second person being charged in this hacking event that happened back in 2014. Majerczyk is directly linked to the Lawrence and Upton privacy violations.
The images and videos of the victims on the attacks appeared on Reddit and 4chan, and Lawrence has been open in interviews about what a horrible violation it was having those private images shared with the world without her consent. Hopefully this new prosecution gives Lawrence and the other victims some closure on this fucked up shit. The FBI is still investigating the privacy leak so there might be more convictions.
I am so pro-naked people but that nudity has to be consensual. Otherwise, it is pure assholery and not sexy at all.
