Susan Sarandon, Porn Director?

Susan Sarandon has had and continues to have a pretty stellar acting career, but she is apparently looking to the future with an eye on directing. Now, I know what you’re thinking, she’s just another actor who thinks they can direct and will end up directing some movie just for them and it won’t be that great. Well, my friend you are wrong, because Susan Sarandon wants to direct porn.  

Yes, you heard me correctly—Susan Sarandon wants to direct porn. At least that’s what she told The Times while she was at the Cannes Film Festival. In her mind, porn is too male-focused.  

"Most pornography is brutal and doesn't look pleasurable from a female point of view. So I've been saying that when I no longer want to act, I want to do that.”  

It sounds like Susan Sarandon wants to focus a little more the emotional side of sex instead of just the physical act. The moments getting to the sack, the kissing, the touching, the foreplay . . . but that doesn’t mean she’d leave out the actual physical stuff.  

“The middle? Well, a lot of people know what's in the middle. But what makes a sex act really interesting is how that first touch happens, how that first kiss comes. Those moments need to be looked at."   

Now, I can hear some people out there rolling their eyes, but I ask you not to judge a porn by its cover. She does have a point—most porn is male centered because most porn is aimed at men. If Susan Sarandon wants to do a female-centered porn to get more ladies to watch porn, then I’m all for it. Why the hell not? Besides, this might just be a pipe dream. But if Susan Sarandon actually directs a porn, then we can talk about it.  

Though, how awesome would it be Susan Sarandon directed the porn parody of Bull Durham? And Thelma and Louise?
