Really? A Mattress That Detects Cheating? Really?

When Stains Are No Longer Good Enough

Really, I don’t have much for this one, folks. Someone made a bed that can tell if you are being cheated on because I guess stains aren’t really evidence anymore. That’s right, the “Smarttress” is full of sensors that can detect suspicious movements when you’re not around. Sigh, this why we can’t have nice things.  

The Spanish company Durmet has designed and been test the Smarttress for awhile now and it looks like it’s read to hit the market. Since I really can’t wrap my head around this, here is what Durmet spokesman José Antonio Muiño said about his companies product:  

“Seeing the latest research on infidelity in Spain and considering that 94 per cent of Spaniards’ preferred place for love-making was in their own home, we thought we could give peace of mind to men and women, not only at night, but also during the day when they have to go out to work. If it detects suspicious activity regarding time of use, frequency, intensity or speed, it sends a notification to the phone terminal with which it is linked."  

Now, I’m sure we all want to know how they tested the sensors, but sadly that is one thing he didn’t go into great detail about. I would also like to see if there will be any correlation between these mattress sales and the rise of cheaters in Spain doing it on the floor, couch, car, shower, kitchen counter, back seat of cars, front seat of cars, hotels, motels, alleys, beds of people who don’t have this mattress, airplanes, public bathrooms, restaurant dumpsters, bars, the zoo, zero gravity chambers, tennis matches, and/or under the pier on summer vacation.  

Seriously, what happened to the good old days when you would look through your partners phone, email, internet history, and hire a prostitute to find out if they were or would be willing cheat? You know, like a normal, regular, crazy person.
