Eric Gets the Job Done

AVN Hall-of-Famer Eric Masterson has been a reliable feature and all-sex player in porn since 1999. He has been nominated a ton for his acting performances, including a nomination this year for his role in the Wicked Pictures/Adam & Eve western "Wanted". He recently joined talent agency OC Modeling as a booking agent, adding another facet to his already rich and interesting career.

What kind of guy were you back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?

"Way back in high school, I dated everyone: geeks, cheerleaders, valedictorians, etc. I was a metal head, drama kid, D&D-playing geek. I covered it all and wasn’t stuck in one category."

Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry? Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies?

"Yes of course, I was definitely a fan. My favorites were Ashlyn Gere, Stacy Valentine, and Silvia Saint."

What do you think shaped you into the male performer that we see on screen?

"Wow, so many things have shaped me into the performer I am today. My wife Maya Devine getting me started would be the biggest. The fact that the guys who came before me in the biz gave me solid advice really helped—guys like Randy Spears, Mark Davis, Alec Metro, and Sean Michaels. They talked to me on set, which stunned me because these are the guys I’d watched for years before getting in. So of course, I took their advice."

What/who do you want to do on-camera that you haven’t done yet?

"I think I’ve done it all almost. I’m not sure if there is anything I’m waiting to do."

Who is your favorite female performer to work with and why?

"That’s a loaded question. There are so many. I’d have to say jessica drake, Stormy Daniels, Keisha Grey, and the list just goes on."

You respond to your fans a lot on Twitter. What do you like most about talking to your fans on social media?

"Talking to fans on Twitter is a blast, because you get an immediate response. Sometimes it’s not what you want to hear, but hey, everyone has an opinion, right?"

What made you decide to start working for an agency and what made you choose OC Modeling?

"My decision to go to OCM was easy. Sandra and I have become friends over the years . She was looking, and I wanted to start to move away from being in front of the camera as much, so it’s a natural fit. Besides, it’s great to be a part of a family and continue to grow in an industry that I love."

If you could change anything in your career, is there anything you would want to do differently?

"I probably would have saved more money. Other than that, everything is great."

What is one thing you would teach a man who wanted to be a better sexual partner?

"That’s easy, just listen to who you're having sex with—they know what they want better than I can tell someone. There’s no blanket advice position, move, etc. that I can give that’s better than that. So, just listen."

What do you think that people assume about male porn stars that just is not true?

"We don’t all have two-foot long dicks. Only half of us do, but the rest are only 12 inches."

What do you think are “must-have” DVDs for your fans?

"Loaded by Digital Playground, for sure. It’s a great movie with a lot of action, and it’s based off characters Barrett Blade and I created."

What do you like to do for fun?

"I read, play D&D (yep, still), do Ren Faires, go camping, exercise, and of course have lots of sex."

What is your favorite type of scene to do?

"My favorite scenes are orgies or BBG. I think it’s a blast to have everyone in a big tangle of bodies going at it. Also, there’s something about a girl who just can’t get enough with one guy that she needs two. I find that really wanton and sexual. I’ve done a lot of BBG with my wife. LOL."

What changes within the industry have impacted you the most?

"Changes that have impacted me the most are the same ones that have impacted most people—DVDs dying, the Internet categorizing, and niche everything. It’s all just changes, including how things are booked and shot. Still, it’s a great industry to be a part of, though."

What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?

"Revenant is a great movie. I love things like that. I wouldn’t want to be attacked by a bear, but just to go live out in the woods away from everything would be amazing."

How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?

"Brad Armstrong still puts out amazing product—his movies are very sexy, well thought out, and well acted."

If you could work with any retired female porn star from any era, who would you choose?

"Stacy Valentine 100 percent."

If you could fuck any celebrity, who would it be?

Celebrity that’s alive I’d say Jennifer Tilly, and a dead celebrity would Bettie Page. What can I say, I want women to look like women."

What single piece of advice would you give a brand new male porn performer?

"A single advice is hard . . . there’s so much, but here we go. It’s not the girl’s job to get you hard, it’s your job to be hard. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice—hell, wonderful even—that most girls will help, but don’t put it all on them. Do your job and be hard. That, and don’t pat yourself on the back. If it’s good, others will pat your back, but otherwise you look like a pompous ass for doing a mediocre job. OK, that was two pieces of advice."

Is there anything you want to say to your fans here at Fleshbot?

"Thanks again for your time. Thank you for your support through the years. You’ve been good to me, and I love you for it. I’ve still got a few more in me before I’m no longer in front of the camera, but there is no way I’m getting out of this business for a long time."
