XBIZ to Host Online Panel on Porn Performers’ Consent Issues

Consent Is Really Everything

XBIZ is hosting a panel titled “Consent in Porn: Debunking Myths and Managing Realities.” The event will be live broadcasted from somewhere in Los Angeles and it will be available for viewing on Mindbrowse.com completely free of charge starting at 1 p.m. PST on Thursday, February 25.

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Chauntelle Tibbals, author of Exposure: A Sociologist Explores Sex, Society, and Adult Entertainment. The participants in the panel have not been announced yet, but they will be in the coming days/weeks.

“Consent is an integral aspect of all social interactions, one that seems to be made even more complex within the context of sex work and adult content production,” Dr. Tibbals said in a press release. “I am very pleased that members of the adult industry who are impacted daily by these issues will be sharing their insights.”

Given recent events in porn, this is an important thing for us all to have open discussions about and for our favorite porn stars, honoring their limits is just good business and absolutely the correct thing to do. As a porn fan, checking into this panel and getting more of a sense of how your entertainment is made might be a good idea.
