‘Dating Naked’ To Complicate Its Already Impossibly Complicated Premise

The producers of everyone's favorite nude reality dating competition Dating Naked took one look at the show's awkward and awful first season and decided it needed a little something extra. In fact, based on this story from Entertainment Weekly (link below), they likely took all the profits from that first season and used it to light their cigars, since they've metaphorically burned the whole thing down to the ground.

I'm not obtuse enough to think that there was any sort of integrity or thought behind a show called Dating Naked, but because they rushed the damn thing into production without first considering the best way to do the show, they're now forced to revamp the entire format after only one season.

EW has learned that instead of offering up new contestants every week, the second season focuses on two primary daters, who will remain with the show for the entire 10-episode season. Our two extremely brave souls are Kerri Cipriani, a 25-year-old traveling nurse recruiter from Tampa whose (ex-)boyfriend cheated on her with a woman whose phone number she dared him to try to procure, and Chris Aldrich, a 27-year-old financial consultant/accountant from San Diego who “lost the girl of his dreams when he didn’t take her or her dreams seriously.”

Each week, Chris and Kerri will embark on nude romantic adventures with two new suitors. At the end of the episode, they can each select one of them to remain on the island. At one point this season, s date will feature a pair of love seekers making papier mache molds of each other’s butts. Who said courtship without clothes can’t be all artsy and stuff?

Man, every now and again television truly blows me away with how absolutely stupid it can get. I would love to meet the guy who pitched the idea that the contestants should make papier mache molds of each other's butts. I know of at least one person that didn't pitch that idea...
