Twenty Questions with Veteran Performer/Director Melissa Monet

Melissa Monet is a veteran of the porn industry--she's been around making us lust after her since 1994--and she is truly talented in front of and behind the camera.  She is as sweet as it gets and you can always rely on her when you are shopping for porno.  Monet performs in and directs Sweetheart Video's new release "Lesbian Babysitters 12".  Here are Monet's answers to twenty questions.

1) What kind of girl were you back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?

I was basically a nerdy burnout/rocker/disco queen for some of it, but always a voracious reader. I was with the same guy through most of high school, but he was a kinky little fucker who introduced me to some pretty interesting shit.

2) Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry? Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies?

I was always a big fan if porn. So many great stars throughout the years, but my favorite guy of all time was John Leslie and I never saw a Tori Welles movie that didn't make me wet. Favorite all time pornos are: Tangerine, Sex World, The Opening of Misty Beethoven, The Chameleon, The Devil in Miss Jones...so many great movies!!!

3) What do you think shaped you into the sexually strong woman that we see in your porno?

That's hard to pinpoint. I am a very passionate person. I love pleasing my partner and I have always strived to be the best at what I do. It's the one thing I have always been confident about, but it's because of the above that I'm able to be strong, sexually or otherwise.

4) What/who do you want to do on-camera that you haven’t done yet?

I've done everything sexually on camera I'm willing to give of myself. I'd love to do more visually stunning imagery...crossover porn/mainstream, something serious and substantial budget wise. I have a lot of very interesting scripts that just need money. As for people, the list is long and growing every day, so many terrific performers, past and present.

5) Who is your favorite male performer/female performer to work with and why?

Every person is unique and I have had wonderful experiences with so many, but I do have a list of those I wouldn't fuck with a donkey's dick.

6) You respond to your fans a lot on Twitter. Tell me how reaching your fans through the internet has changed things for you.

Communicating with the fans is so much easier than dragging a bag of letters from the PO and having to lick a few hundred stamps. I can appreciate the instant messaging, but best of all is not reading the freak mail and being able to just hit delete.

7) What’s your favorite position to get fucked in and why does it get you off?

I get off being on top pretty hard and fast. I get to control the pacing, pressure and depth. Also, I love watching my lover's face, especially when they cum...it's the best thing in the world.

8) Were you ever a babysitter?

Yes, but I was super young, no shenanigans ever happened.

9) What is one thing you would teach a woman who wanted to be a better sexual partner?
To relax. Women are so self conscious, they think too much, worry too much, internalize too much, but all of these are necessary to a certain degree. Men who have the above traits (within reason of course) are usually great lovers. Women need to relax and allow themselves to receive pleasure. When women reach out to me, they're not sexually explorative, not because they don't want to be, but because they're afraid. Even today we don't explain things to women on a personal level. Sexual speakers and educators miss a whole group of women by trying so desperately to sound educated. Sorry, I'm going on and on.

10) What are the best things about being a porn star? How has it made your life more fulfilling?

I don't consider myself a porn star. I don't even get recognized standing in front of a poster of myself...LOL. I've been a porn chick for 20 years, it's been magnificent for me. At times the money and freedom has allowed me to pursue so many things I love to do outside of the business (like rescue animals). It has allowed me to educate and inform the public; bring joy, sexual gratification and to help people at times. Everything it has its pitfalls, but I love it here!

11) What do you think is your hottest scene?

My girl/girl scene with Justine Joli, my scene with Ginger Lynn (she made me cry), my S&M scenes with Careens Collins and Kim Wilde...my boy/girl scene with James Deen. All of them have very similar sexual energy and intimacy. I can name a bunch more, but those stand out the most.

12) How do you think you have changed as a performer in your years in front of the camera?

I think I'm the same. The way we shoot porn is different so it may seem that I've changed...but I'm just me.

13) What do you think are “must-own” titles of your work for your fans?'

"My Daughter's Boyfriend", "River Rock Women's Prison", "When Ginger Met Nina", "Life's a Beach" (an oldie), "It's a Mommy Thing 4"...all of the "Lesbian Babysitters"... Just so many to choose from, I could have a very long list if I included the old titles.

14) What else can we look forward to seeing from you as a director in the coming months?

Next up is "Mother Lovers Society 13" for Sweetheart Video/Mile High. I write, direct, produce and do other stuff, so I always have my name on movies somewhere.

15) What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?

I haven't seen any recent movies, but I'm hooked on the Ted Talks and I can't wait to see the new Hobbit!

16) How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?

I haven't watched a full porno in awhile except the ones I've directed. As far as girls are concerned, I can watch just about anything Dana DeArmond does because I can hear her voice in my head making me laugh and turning me on simultaneously.

17) Are you into toys to get yourself off alone or are you a low-tech woman?

I love toys and I'm always on the lookout for anything interesting...but I also like the shower head and I'm very happy using just my fingers too.

18) If you could fuck any celebrity, who would it be? Give us your male and female choices.

Hugh Jackman, Robert Downey Jr, Viggo Mortensen, Christoph Waltz, Christopher Walken. The girls are harder because my taste in women are all over the place...Sophia Vergara (who doesn't love her?!), Garcelle Beauvais, Queen Latifah, Angelina Jolie, Pink... a lot more! For me it's about being sexy. What turns me on is something I see in an individual person...and if they can make me laugh.

19) After all of your years in porn, is there anything you would want to do differently if you had a second chance?

I should have marketed myself better, had a website early on and taken more chances. I would have partnered with a friend a long time ago even though the price was having to sleep with his partner...I've done worse for less. Shoulda/woulda/coulda!

20) Is there anything you want to say to your fans here at Fleshbot?

I really appreciate all my fans, but especially those who stuck with me all these years. I have a few that I've known for 20 years that I now consider friends...how cool is that? I want to thank Fleshbot for giving me the opportunity to reach out to all of you...everyone has been fantastic!!! XO!
