Being in prison in Connecticut brings new meaning to the term "doing hard time." You see, the state has a ban on porn in its prisons, and one convicted murderer is putting this policy on trial.

According to United Press International (link below), the ban on printed pornography in Connecticut prisons has caused a man to bring a lawsuit against the Connecticut Department of Corrections.

Dwight Pink, Jr., 40, who is serving a 56-year sentence for a 1998 murder, filed a lawsuit challenging the state's ban on printed materials depicting nudity or sexual activity, alleging the ban is an infringement of his right to free speech.

Pink filed the lawsuit after he was denied a book called The Atlas of Foreshortening, which contains photos of nude male and female models in various poses. The book is designed to teach artists how to draw the human body.

The state's Department of Corrections instituted the ban in 2012. It includes an exception for "materials which, taken as a whole, are literary, artistic, educational or scientific in nature."

A response filed by the state Monday said Pink's rights were not violated and the ban has not harmed him.

The lawsuit is seeking an end to the ban as well as $25,000 and attorney's fees.

Man, just think of all the porn he could buy with 25 grand. All of it, basically. He could buy all of the porn.
