Earlier today, a porn director texted us with a picture of a pretty young lass with short black hair, piercings, tats, and a sweet expression on her face. “Any idea who this is?” he asked us. We indeed had an idea. It was Nikki Hearts! We met her in Las Vegas during AEE, and there’s no way we’re forgetting a babe like this.
If her Burning Angel profile is accurate, then Nikki Hearts was born between October 23 and November 22 in 1992, and grew up in Columbus, Ohio. As she reveals in the story of how she came out, Nikki was aware of her sexuality from an early age and often struggled with those around her who tried to label it:
Not only did I like girls (even though after the first-grade incident I completely denied it) I was constantly mistaken for a little boy in public. I had a 90s Leonardo DiCaprio haircut and dressed myself exclusively from the Old Navy little boys’ department. My hippie aunt would always tell my mom that she had lesbian friends who would love to “sit down and talk to her about it.” My mom was still in denial at that point, saying things like, “She’s just a tomboy, it’s a phase” and “She’s only six!” But mom was in denial until I was probably about ten or so. Then she and my sister started on me: “It’s really okay if you’re a lesbian. Just tell us. It’s not a big deal.”
While the rest of her story is inspirational, intimate, and definitely worth reading, we don’t want to rehash all of it here. It details an important facet of Nikki’s life, but it’s not (necessarily) part of her porn identity, and that’s what we’re here to praise.
Nikki’s first love in life was music, and her admiration of Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe (from whom she takes her pseudonym) inspired her to play bass and start a band with her friends. Although she’s put music on the back burner for now, Nikki feels she’s satisfying her thirst for the rockstar lifestyle by being a pornstar: “I’m still basically living out my dream–traveling, performing, meeting new people, and doing something artistic.”
So how did she get into porn? Nikki started watching a lot of it when she was eighteen, “mostly because [she] wanted to find something that was real lesbian porn, or at least had real lesbians in it. It was surprisingly hard to find.” Then she moved into “this big feminist house” where one of her roommates introduced her to queer porn, and after experiencing the wholesome, unbridled joys of Crash Pad, NoFauxxx, and other institutions of free-thinking fuckery, Nikki decided that this was the kind of smut she wanted to make. Eventually, she met Jett Bleu, Jett got Nikki hooked up with Juicy Pink Box, and then Nikki did her first scene!
What was that first scene? (Damn, you ask a lot of questions.) It was the first episode of “Hotel,” and Nikki plays Calico Lane’s secret lover in a bedsheet getaway where Calico forgets all about her hubby. Nikki discusses the scene in a (totally fascinating) interview with one of her former roommates for Autostraddle, and she was less than ecstatic about her performance:
I had this moment of standing outside the building before the shoot and contemplating leaving. I knew I didn’t have to do it, but if I did it once it would be out there. And even once I got in there I wasn’t comfortable. I sat in hair and makeup for a really long time, and then we moved on to photo stills, which is the first time you’re naked and trying to look good. I was really nervous until we started filming, after which the initial fear went away and got replaced by “Do I look ok? Am I doing this right?” But I didn’t decide to do another scene until “Hotel” came out.
Fortunately for Nikki (and the rest of us), she came out of the experience feeling good about it, realized that she won’t like everything she does during sex, but she can control how she performs and will get better with each passing scene. Thus far, she’s already had some special milestones in her smut career, such as having sex with Veruca James on a downtown Los Angeles roof during sunset (as seen in “It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane – It’s LESBIANS!”) and getting to spend some time in the Crash Pad with Dylan Ryan, whose performance in “Strap On Motel” first inspired Nikki to make porn.
And then there’s the time we met Nikki. It was two months ago, in fact, during the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas. We got to hang behind the scenes while Nikki was part of a four-girl orgy hosted by Courtney Trouble! We’ll be writing more about that evening very soon, but as a teaser, we’ll mention that one of the first things out of Nikki’s mouth was a declaration of generosity in regards to her sex toy-laden luggage: “So, I brought a bag of dicks…”
Oh, that Nikki. So giving, so charming, so freaking cute!
