So as you may be able to tell, I’m on a “good sex” kick today, having started the morning out with talking to you about my love for yoga and showing you how you can incorporate it into your lives, sex and otherwise. To round out this healthy day, I thought I’d share with you another of my passions, good food.
I love food. I love to eat and I am a huge believer in good food for good sex. As an adult performer, it is really important that I take care of my body, it is my instrument and if any of my parts are unwell, I’m not working. The same goes for my personal life, when I’m healthy, everything is better. And don’t get me started on talking about how to love your colon. My friends have had to cut me off because I can go on and on about how a happy colon makes for a happy life and sometimes it just not a hot conversation. That said, here are a few of my favorite foods that also happen to be great for stimulating libido! A little food porn for your afternoon. XXO
Arugula: Chock full of antioxidants and high in fiber, arugula is not only tasty but also works to block free radicals that can contribute to sluggishness and sexual dysfunction. I love eating it in a salad with some quinoa and a little goat cheese, it makes a great pesto that can be used to make a quick and easy pasta or as a dressing.
Strawberries: Who doesn’t love strawberries? In smoothies, on top of cereal, in a summer tart or fresh with a shake of powdered sugar on top, strawberries are simply delicious. They are also high in folic acid that can help raise sperm count in men. Combine them with chocolate which is high in methylxanthines that boosts libido and you’ll be raring to go!
Almonds: Though there are those of us that have nut allergies, for the rest of the world, there are almonds which, high in selenium, zinc and trace vitamins have been shown to boost libido and contribute to increased sexual arousal, especially in women! They make a great snack and are more filling than other members of the nut family. Also, there are copious nut jokes that can be made and a little sexual joke with food is always appreciated. Toss them in a salad (see? Jokes about!), cover them in tamari and roast them on low for 20 minutes to get some extra flavor in your snack. Delish.
Green Tea: I LOVE TEA. I drink a ton of it every week and green is far and away my favorite, iced or hot, green tea is especially high in catechins that increase blood flow all over the body and can stimulate increased brain activity. Always better to be able to think on and off your feet during sex! Studies have also shown that drinking tea that is lukewarm to hot in the morning can speed up the metabolism, helping us burn more calories and fat all day, helping us to keep at our fit and best.
