The Porn Industry Will Miss You, Dylan Ryder

Former Bluebird contract star Dylan Ryder announced that she's retiring from the porn and pursuing work outside the industry. She isn't exactly severing all ties with the adult world; Dylan will release never before seen footage and glamour shots on her personal website, continue her work as a Fleshlight Girl, and she's going to appear in a few lad mags in the coming months. We know she'll still be a part of our lives, but we're nonetheless saddened by her departure.

Ryder entered the industry at 22 after allegedly opening up a copy of Penthouse and having a strong urge to join in on the fun. She did her first shoot with Reality Kings, took a break to work as a correctional officer in Arizona, then went back to California and did over a hundred more scenes, becoming a hugely successful and popular pornstar.

In the grand scheme of things, pornstar is just one of the many hats Dylan's worn in her life. Besides being a Fleshlight Girl and a CO in AZ, she's been a substance abuse treatment counselor, a spokesmodel for a Mexican bar, and "Head Nurse" for a glass dildo company. Who knows what she'll do next? Well, first she's going to have a brand new skateboard deck made and sold by Ironlak, and then she's opening up a private events lounge, but we have no idea what comes after that.

In related news, Bluebird Films's owner, Paul Chaplin, just announced that he's "flying away from Bluebird" in order to focus on running Loaded, the British lad mag that he just acquired. At the moment, it's not clear if someone is replacing Chaplin or if the company has been sold. Oh, the porn industry is a fickle beast!
