Happy Birthday, Gretchen Mol, We Love Your Body

Gretchen Mol turned 39 yesterday and we didn't do a damn thing to celebrate. Shame on us! How could we forget to pay tribute to a woman who repeatedly reminds us how sexy the past is. Gretchen Mol, we love you.

Despite the title of this post, we're interesting in more than Gretchen's rockin' bod. Our favorite thing about Gretchen Mol is that she always seems to have something up her sleeve. Even when she's baring her boobs and pouring her emotions out, she managed to keep something locked away; sometimes she hides a dangerous secret, at other times she's holding back scraps of innocence and honesty, but she always has an air of mystery. It's why we're obsessed with her! Well, that and her bod.

So in honor of her special day (ahem, yesterday), we're taking a quick look at some of our favorite Mol moments. Coincidentally (or maybe not so coincidentally) these roles all feature Mol in a different era!

Boardwalk Empire
There have been many memorable Mol moments on "Boardwalk Empire," but this one has to be our favorite. Gillian appears to be dancing for the Commodore in order to get back in his good graces, but there are hidden threats laced throughout her performance. She's playing the goddess Diana, one of the most fearsome deities in the Greek pantheon, and one with a reputation for taking revenge on men who spy on her naked. The Commodore doesn't survive the dance, and while we love the Diana-appropriate ending to this scene, we hope Gretchen Mol takes mercy on the likes of us. We ogle out of love, we swear!
