Royally Nude: Sophie Winkleman’s Topless Scene Causes Minor Scandal

Though Kate Middleton has waltzed into the royal family free of scandal (unless you consider wearing a bikini scandalous), another royal bride’s just been bitten by a blast from her (naked) past.

Sophie Winkleman—who married Lord Frederick Windsor last year—is reportedly unsettled by the DVD release of “Love Live Long,” a movie in which she (gasp!) appears topless. Now, granted, since this project was always intended for commercial release, it’s not like anyone’s pulling a fast one here. But, out of deference to the delicate sensibilities of the UK citizenry, the film won’t be released on DVD in Great Britain. So, Britons, if you want to see the lovely Lady’s performance, well, you’ll just have to watch this clip of it that we have right here.

Is it possible there is a culture just as puritanical as that which resides here in the ol’ U.S. of A? Brits, you have boobs in your newspaper!

She should come out and claim high and proud that there is nothing wrong with appearing topless or nude on film. NEVER.

What’s the problem? She’s natural. (No implants.) It’s better than some royals for whom we can speak — cough, Henry VIII’s cod-piece, cough.

Seems to be the best way not to be embarrassed in this way is not to get your tits out in front of a camera in the first place. It’s not as if Figgis is an obscure director. As for the film not getting a UK release on disk, it’s available from both Amazon.co.uk and Play.com for less than six quid.
