Case in point: this movie right here. Before “Boardwalk Empire,” there was a little biopic called “The Notorious Bettie Page,” and the world fell in love with Gretchen as she performed her topless time-travel.
We know this is old news, but hey, “Boardwalk Empire” didn’t give us any random nudity this week, and we were forced to satisfy our own retro-boob urges. And Bettie isn’t anywhere near as retro as the burlesque flapper babes of yore! Why must we crave mock-vintage nudity so?
