Don’t You Forget About Faye

During our adolescent years, we spent an embarrassing amount of time imagining how things must have unfolded when Bender and Claire (from “The Breakfast Club,” duh) finally got together. And what we eventually came up with…looked pretty much like this.

    Saw Sponge at the Summer Solstice block-party on North Ave. back in June. Sponge played. Well, Vinny Dombrowski (“The Polish Prince”) & some hired-guns did. Of course, ‘Molly’ got played. I’ll admit it, too — it was strange. From seeing Sponge on the Wax Ecstatic (best neo-garage album ever? best neo-garage album ever…. suck it, Strokes & White Stripes!) tour at the Rave, at 16, to seeing them at a church-festival type setting (minus the Christianity; there were pagans, though, as it were the “solstice”), at 30. I felt so old… But I remember it like it was only yesterday.

    Well, these sixteen comeshots down Faye’s throat should take some of the sting away.
