The Good Old Days

Though we try not to get too nostalgic (the past is past, man), it’s hard not to feel a tinge of yearning for days of yore when watching a legend like John Holmes at work.

Really: once they made him, they must have broken the mold, burned its remains, and scattered them across the ocean. And you know who lost out in that equation? Us! What we wouldn’t give for another John Holmes. Well, maybe some day…

    Man, I remember listening to that album on VINYL over and over when I was a little kid. Memories.

    I was too young to know about John Holmes in his day, though. Thanks for giving me a glimpse of what I missed!

    Am I the only one who noticed the remixed Star Wars music playing in that clip?

    It’s always tricky watching John Holmes – like in other areas, it’s tough to reconcile the art with our knowledge of the person. Homes may have been a maestro with his 13 inch conducting stick, but much in the same way we can’t listen to Wagner without reflecting on what a vicious anti-Semite he was, we can’t watch Holmes without thinking of him as being a murderous scumbag.
