Though they may not know it, HBO and Showtime are perpetually locked in a battle over who can show the most celebrity boob—and right now, HBO is winning.
Sure, Showtime had a good run with “The Tudors,” but “True Blood,” “Hung,” and even “Entourage” are wiping the floor with “Weeds” (who, what, gave us Mary Louise Parker adult breastfeeding and some Alanis sideboob? Please.).
But when the new season of “Californication” debuts at the end of next month, the balance could be tipped in Showtime’s favor. Early reports indicate that Eva Amurri, Diane Farr, and celebrity sapphist Alicia Witt will all be doing “tasteful nudity” this season—and that means boobs!
Of course, rumors like these have led us astray in the past—but for now, we’re going to be cautiously optimistic. The New York Observer wouldn’t lie to us, would they?
