So Long, Penny Flame, And Thanks For Everything

Over the past few weeks, we’ve heard many rumors about what, exactly, Crush Object Penny Flame is up to these days. Now it seems we’ve uncovered the bittersweet truth: Penny has left the adult industry.

We can’t say that this comes as a surprise. Back in February, Penny was blogging about the shortage of work in Porn Valley, a difficult situation that had caused her to take a new job as cam site MetroBabes’s Studio Manager. And then there was the announcement a few weeks ago that she’d be appearing on VH1′s “Celebrity Rehab,” to work through sex addiction issues with Dr. Drew. But it was only this weekend, upon discovering her new blog, Becoming Jennie, that we really, truly had to accept that Penny had left the adult industry for real.

Our feelings on the matter are perhaps best summed up by commenter hodayathink, who sent us the link to Penny’s new blog: “I’m probably happy for her and sad for myself.” It’s hard for us to say goodbye to someone who gave us so much—but at the same time, we’re happy to know that she’s taking care of herself, and doing the things she needs to be happy and healthy.

    All good things must come… to an end.

    Wouldn’t have taken her for eight years in the industry, though… Would make her twenty-six or so. & maybe I just look wretched for my age, but in no way would I peg her for being with an hair’s breath of my birth.

    I would let her peg me, though. If the sex addiction counseling doesn’t work out, I mean.

    Penny was so loveable on camera and I’m sure she’s great off camera too. I’ve posted in response to this on a few other blogs and I don’t want to say the same thing. I think this is best for her. It will be sad to no longer see her perform, because her enthusiam on camera was infectious and really got you hot. She makes sex fun – like it should be. Hopefully, stepping away from the industry, she can have that fun sex with someone she’s actually capable of falling in love with. And, like I’ve said on other blogs, part of me does think this could be leading into a VH-1 reality series. If it isn’t, then it should. She’s someone that could cross the mainstream, move on from the industry without bashing it too.

    really surprised to hear this news. I thought she was doing some great work with Tristan Taormino on the Vivid Ed series they were putting out. I wonder if Tristan has any insight on this situation.

    Wow this sucks. From reading her blog it doesn’t sound like sex addiction as much as issues with other things(does that make sense?).
