Penny Flame, Celebrity Sex Addict?

Building off the success of the first two seasons “Celebrity Rehab,” VH1 has decided to spice up the third season of Dr. Drew’s celebrity addiction—by making it about sex addiction.

The show started shooting last week—and rehabbers include former Playmate (and Colin Farrell sex tape co-star) Nicole Narain, adult performer Kendra Jade, former Miss United States Teen/Playboy model Kari Ann Peniche, gay film director/producer/writer/art director Duncan Roy, actress/model Amber Smith, and—gasp!—Fleshbot Crush Object Penny Flame.

We must admit, we’re still reeling from the shock of seeing our beloved Penny in the list of celebrity sex addicts (for obvious reasons, we should think); but we sincerely hope that Dr. Drew and his crew are able to help Penny and her co-stars get through their troubles and live happier, healthier lives—and that the mainstream exposure helps the rest of the world fall in love with the girl we’re proud to call a bonafide Crush Object.

[P.S. Dr. Drew, don't cure her too much, okay?]

I’m not gonna sit here and say that I didn’t see it coming (her being a sex addict, that is), but at least she is in what would be the perfect job for someone addicted to sex.

But if the addiction does put her into dangerous situations, then I hope she gets all the help she needs.

I’m a little wary of Dr Drew on this topic, as I recall him being very anti-porn on many occasions. Maybe this has changed… And I also have read enough criticism from experts about the actual diagnosis of “sex addition”. It is very difficult to claim this is an actual addiction, considering how libidos, appetites to explore and experiment can all vary and I don’t feel can be judged or measured by a single moral or standard.

Please treat porn in a balanced and fair way. Please treat porn in a balanced and fair way.

I’m just going to keep repeating this.

How I understand addiction is that it’s having a negative impact on your life. Didn’t Airforce Amy get treatment for sex addiction too? But she really did seem to have a psychological problem.

As an addendum… yes, we all like to fuck–some of us more than others–but I think sex addicts are those whose lives are consumed with getting sex (much like a drug or alcohol addict).

Penny doesn’t believe she’s a sex addict or in sex addiction. She does believe in VH-1. Um, that’s all I’m going to say.

Craving attention would seem more to be the problem/”problem”.
