Haha, yeah I saw this on Consumerist too (yes, we still read Consumerist, Gawker people).
Just ridiculous. Sex is constantly shoved in our faces, and at the same time we are a nation full of prudes. I don’t get it.
Of course it doesn’t even approach the hypocrisy of the drug war, but that’s another argument.

You’d think they’d encourage less clothing, as it would make security checks so much easier…
Now then, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go experience some turbulence in the cockpit.

I remember back in the ’70s when I worked for American Airlines that Southwest was considering see-through blouses for the flight attendants on some of their business classes. I talked to one of them who said they would get a bump in pay if they wore them. She was planning to buy a Corvette with the extra cash.
It was the result of a market survey SW did of their business travelers. They had asked them if topless or see through clothes on the stewardesses (as we called them then) would make them more likely to fly SW, and got a very positive response. The plan got canceled when they surveyed the wives of the travelers, who pretty much said they’d never =allow= their men on such flights.
