Only You Can Fight The UK’s “Extreme” Porn Ban

Months ago, we warned you that “extreme” porn would soon be banned in the UK. Well, now the law has gone into effect for really real. So what does that mean?

Well, first off, the law bans “pornographic images which depict an act which threatens a person’s life or would cause serious harm to the anus, breast or genitals, regardless of whether the scenes are real or acted.” We’re guessing this means we’ll be saying good-bye to old faves like “Slaughter Disc”, electrostim… and, well, most of the offerings from Kink.com, actually.

It also bans “depictions of sex with animals or corpses, regardless of whether the animal or corpse is real.” Translation: no more: Necro Babes, “Re-Penetrator”, or “Porn of the Dead” (and what about the furries?).

Frustrated? Angry? Want to fight back and help the Britishers get their smut? Contact Backlash or the Consenting Adults Action Network to learn how you can help out the pervs across the pond.

    But prostitution is still A-OK.
Nice to know the UK is really concerned about the safety of women.

Wait, I’m for legal prostitution… just against hypocrisy.

They say the ban isn’t supposed to target BDSM. But that isn’t comforting when terms like ‘life-threatening’ and ‘serious injury’ are left undefined in the Act. Judges and jurors will have the freedom to interpret the meanings themselves.

The law is dangerously broad. What constitutes as extreme is not clear enough. Though I did try to find some examples: [highonsex.blogspot.com]

Also stupid is outlawing fake scenes. Wouldn’t banning acted scenarios make graphic violence in non-porn movies illegal as well?

Well about 50% of the stunts on MTV’s “Jackass” would’ve qualified. Dude all the things they did to Johnny Knoxville’s genitals or Steve-O’s ass would be considered under the ban.
