We keep declaring the death of altporn—only to have yet another hopeful alt site pop up, attempting to breathe some life (or at least boobs) back into the genre. The latest contender? Harm City Harlots.
Based in Baltimore, Harm City’s been in business for just about two months which means, of course, that it’s still new and full of excitement. It also means, of course, that the amount of content is nowhere near the level of, say, Burning Angel or Suicide Girls—when we logged in, we saw 27 models, most of whom had only a single set to their name. But hey, everyone has to start somewhere, right?
More important than the content’s quantity is its quality: so how does Harm City stack up? The girls themselves are a rather fetching lot, with standard alt branding aplenty: here a tattooed girl, there some piercings—there’s even a roller girl thrown in for good measure. Not surprisingly, the bulk of the content is softcore solo girl sets; though there are some girl-girl sets, and a masturbation video (and, potentially excitingly, the FAQ hints at the possibility of bringing boys into the mix at some point in the future).
We were, however, a little disappointed with the consistency of the photography—while some sets are gorgeously shot, others seemed a bit amateur. Though it certainly adds to the alt/punk/indie feel, we’ve always preferred to see beautiful girls shot beautifully (it could just be us, though).
Altphiles looking for a site to adore should consider Harm City a promising rookie. True, it will likely take time for it to blossom into a site that can rival its predecessors, but it could turn out to be something worth waiting for. And at $50 for a year’s membership, it might just end up being a worthwhile investment.
