Your Definitive Guide To The Web’s Top Ten Altporn Sites

Have you been scratching your head, wondering which of the web’s finest altporn sites are the best? Well, you’re in luck: Lazerbunny has assembled a list of the web’s top ten altporn sites.

Now, we’re not going to pretend that this list is in anyway definitive. First of all, it’s based on Alexa rankings, which should always be taken with a very large grain of salt; secondly, it’s not clear what, exactly, was used to determine a website’s altness (God’s Girls, which some might happily include in the genre, is nowhere to be seen on the list, despite having an Alexa ranking that trumps all but that of SuicideGirls—and don’t even get us started on Zivity).

But, all that aside, we have this list, and so we might as well use it to tell you a bit about some of the world’s foremost altporn sites. Who knows, you might just find your new favorite thing!

SuicideGirls: Though SuicideGirls was hardly the first alt site to hit the web, it was one of the first to garner massive amounts of attention. The combination of hot young tattooed girls, beautiful photography, fancy social networking tools, and some really slick marketing and branding all combined to make one hot site. Years of success have also meant years of drama, including a whole host of models who accuse SG of not treating them well. Some also argue that the focus on adding more and more models has diluted the site’s quality (then again: nearly 2000 models!).

Burning Angel: The brainchild of Fleshbot Supreme Commandress Joanna Angel, Burning Angel brings all the best in sexy punk girls, hot hardcore vids, and all the online community you could want on a porn site. Also, Joanna Angel (nuff said, we should think).

Crazy Babe: Photographer Bob Coulter shoots just about every alt model you could ever hope to see naked, including more than a few who’ve earned the coveted Crush ObjectTM title. However, all the photos are shot by Bob Coulter, who shoots in a dark, distinctive style. If you don’t like his photos, you probably won’t like the site.

Gothic Sluts: One of the first sites in the Blueblood Network, Gothic Sluts features goth girls… in the nude. Over the many years they’ve been in play, Forrest Black and Amelia G. have tapped some of the finest fetish models we know to appear in their work.

Lazerbunny: Along with Burning Angel, Lazerbunny is one of the few alt sites to break the hardcore barrier and go, you know, deeper. More than a few lovelies are featured on the pages of Lazerbunny, including, yes, the one and only Fleshbot Supreme Commandress Stoya, who was a Lazerbunny contract star in the days before Digital Playground snapped her up.

Broken Dollz: The founders of Broken Dollz wanted to make a porn site unlike any other—they ended up with one very much like all other alt sites. We’ll forgive them that, however, as long as they continue to shoot hot models… naked.

Razor Dolls: Razor Dolls had photos, movies, softcore, hardcore, Stoya—and yet they haven’t updated in over a year, so, uh, they might not be your first choice for new favorite thing.

Supercult: Though Supercult was one of the original alt sites, launching around the same time as Suicide Girls, it never quite rose to the same prominence as some of its siblings. However, now that alt legend Apnea is in the mix, perhaps that will change.

Erotique Digitale: A collection of photos by photographer Kelly Lind, who—like Bob Coulter—has attracted some of the finest models we know. Dana Dearmond, Jana Cova, Joanna Angel, and, yes, Stoya… need we say more?

No Fauxxx: Self-described as porn made by ladies, artists, and queers, No Fauxxx is a truly alternative “alt” site. Featuring every body and every gender, it’s a porn site like no other. Or at least no other that we’ve seen.

okay, seriously: i very much need to know which suicide girl that is in the first pic.

  • BBsinead

I really don’t get why Gods Girls would be left out…
maybe Sean can provide an explanation.

It is interesting that GG should be left out when it is one of the better sites. The whole alt erotica scene is so sadly full of drama that I have vowed not to give any of them money again (after a membership with SG & GG…)

I’m also tired of the same photographers and models being covered repeatedly by the same sites week after week. After the SG/Lithium Picnic thing, I would never SG again (as a photographer) yet we still see them covered over and over again.

  • Smashbase

WTF!? Where is Gods Girls??? That’s a pretty big one to miss.

  • Come a little Miroslav Klose You’re My Kind of Man

BrokenDolls & NoFauxxx, particularly the second, intrigue me, but if I am adding a porn site to the rota, I’ll prolly end up with Syd Blakovich’s assuming the position.

  • lazerbunny!

Gods Girls was an oversight on my behalf. Truth is, they don’t make porn. So, I don’t think about them much. Either does suicide girls you might say, thats true, Erotica is not porn. However if we only did REAL altPORN sites, it would be more like a top 2, Burning Angel and LazerBunny. So there you have it. Burning Angel is # 1 and LazerBunny is # 2 in the top two alt PORN sites.
maybe there should be a top 10 Alt Erotica Sites.

  • lazerbunny!

also note Lorelei Lee is fucking amazing. Hottest pornstar ever.

Why don’t you list the girls under the ALT fetish they use so users can go to the ALT bondage/masochist type they find most interesting

  • Anonymous

GODSGIRLS IS NUMBER ONE!!!! THIS LIST IS ABSOLUTE SHIT.

  • Anonymous

ummm godsgirls is way more “hardcore” than SG or many of the other sites on your list featuring a number of photosets that include toys, and sets with the girls fucking each other with strap ons. this list sucks.

  • Anonymous

In terms of quality, godsgirls is the best. Get a clue.

Publishing this list with the title “Your Definitive Guide To The Web’s Top Ten Altporn Sites” is irresponsible and insulting to not only some of the sites listed but insulting to alt-porn fans and producers who are also fans and readers of Fleshbot.

Allowing the owner of a virtually unknown alt-porn site with an incredibly bad personal and professional reputation to liken his site to Burning Angel which is in the eyes of many people THE definitive alt-porn site.. having been around for a long time, ran a successful, admired website, released oodles of adult films and been nominated for a mindblowing number of AVN awards is a joke.

and leaving GodsGirls off of this list just drives it all home. If Fleshbot is measuring what is and what is not alt-porn based on how explicit the sites are then GodsGirls should absolutely be on the list and some of the other sites listed should not.

this list should be called “Sean’s Deluded Attempt At Making His Own Site Seem Like a Bigger Player Than It Actually Is.” or “The Editor Took The Day Off.”

I think this is a really nice list that gives you a pretty accurate look on the majority of alt porn sites out there. Just because one site is missing the entire list is shit? I beg to differ. Stop being such a negative nancy and check out the awesome sites listed here!!

    Uber awesome list Sean, kudos.

  • BBsinead

@undefined: Sean it’s been proven by many that you treat models like shit. I have emails to back it up. I simply stated my opinion and you attacked my physical appearance? That seems absolutely ridiculous to me considering last time we spoke you were livid that I wouldn’t accept a sum of $200 for a tit fucking video. Or pose naked for sets on your site for free. Also
Please, I weigh less then I did then just because I haven’t posted photos of myself recently and am at the moment retired doesn’t mean I’m fat. It means I’m more interested in taking pictures and other pursuits then getting naked and fucking.
Get over yourself. Your ego and aggressive nature turn both models and potential members off.
You clearly left off gods girls probably as some sort of personal vendetta.
The quality of your videos is awful and almost all your photos are grainy. Half your models want absolutely nothing to do with you.
I agreed with a fleshbot contributor not to trash talk you here so please take a chill pill and do the same with me.

Godsgirls is lame and derivative. Analease and her gaggle of scenewhores are no more alt than katy perry.

and Lazerbunny? in the top 10? LOL I would have put Fatal beauty before them and theyre long gone. Wow can I contribute an article and get my low member, lame porn site on a top 10 list too?

When LB first posted the list (because he used to be on Blue Blood tech/art guy Forrest Black’s Twitter), Forrest pointed out to him that he left out a lot of biggies including GG, DN, EBPM, and most of the Blue Blood sites. Because LB’s audience is small and he included no text with his ranking, it did not seem like anything worth much attention if he failed to correct his faulty data, but then Fleshbot picked up his wholly inaccurate chart. The source list was so poorly-researched that it failed, even from a data entry perspective, transposing digits on the SuicideGirls ranking to make SG appear to be a few hundred slots less popular than it is.

A lot of people respect Fleshbot and I think that, the more viewers a site has, the more journalistic responsibility it has to post accurate information. I’m a bit disappointed that Fleshbot has not posted a follow-up to this article, correcting the inaccuracies here.

If you are interested in this genre, who the current altporn players are in 2009, or how and when web traffic popularity matters, I hope you find what I wrote about it of interest in Understanding AltPorn Popularity Contests. The rankings I provide are based on aggregated statistics of common benchmarks and numbers are not a matter of opinion. Yes, I benchmarked all the multi-model multi-photographer sites for the article. It seems a lot of those in “altporn”, not only do not give credit where it is due, but often avoid even acknowledging others in their niche, but I do not feel that anyone else’s success diminishes my own. Honestly, I think it just looks uninformed, at best, to not acknowledge the world around ourselves.

PS I prefer the term counterculture erotica to altporn because I founded Blue Blood in print in 1992 and I feel the artistic and cohesive lifestyle aspects are larger than the sex aspect. But I understand that sometimes someone can want to call a genre speculative fiction, and people will go right on referring to it as sci-fi, and it is still the same genre by another name.

  • AmeliaG

I realize it has not been that long and Fleshbot may be planning to publish a correction, but I just really felt this merited mentioning.

No list can be comprehensive – obviously. I’d like to thank Lux for providing this info. Cheers!
