The Bush Is Back: Revenge Of The Pubic Hair

The Bush Is Back: Revenge Of The Pubic HairIt had to happen eventually. After years of being banished to the back corner, pubic hair is making a comeback (we know it’s true—Salon says so!). And not just the racing stripe, either.

No ladies (and gentlemens), the new pubic stylings we’re all about to become accustomed to is like nothing we’ve ever seen before. Not a big, untamed bush; not an itty bitty racing stripe; but something inbetween—a, uh, “dorito” of pubic hair, if you will:

“Absolutely,” agrees April Barton, stylist extraordinaire and owner of Suite 303, the salon in New York’s notorious Chelsea Hotel. “The new rule of thumb is: When you lift your leg, there shouldn’t be any hair below the crease. Keep it clean in the back. And in the front, trim the hair right before its natural curl.” She likens the look to a more trimmed, 21st-century version of ’70s pubes: the tailored bush.

It sounds so familiar… we’re sure we’ve seen that look somewhere recently. In fact—hey, wasn’t that what Sasha Grey was rocking in “Stoya Sexy Hot”?

About fucking time. I want to beat off to women, not girls.

  • lilyblaze

This makes my (and my pubic hairs’) day.

That’s definitely not good in my opinion. I cant stand body hair on women. A decorative stripe or wedge is fine, but a pelt like that is too much.

  • MalzyWheels

    Happy Happy, joy joy.

    To everything,
    Turn, turn, turn.
    There is a season,
    Turn, turn, turn.

I’ve never associated the smooth hairless look with pre-pubescence. For me, the attraction has always been that it seems as if my partners are ‘more naked’ than if they had a covering of pubic hair. I guess there just less between me and her.

Yay! I love me some pubic hair when it’s well-manicured, but I’ve always hated the far-too skinny bacon strip (if you’e going to have it that small, why not get rid of it all?).

I will say one thing, though . . . I am NOT calling it a “dorito of pubic hair”.

  • bmeboy

im really not ok with this.. .except sasha… she can do whatever she wants

Shenanigans. I have no interest in tonguing through a bristly thicket of any shape, length, or style–it’s just unpleasant and obstructive. A nice pussy is too gorgeous to cover. Even a natural redhead shouldn’t keep more than a modicum. I’m not a fan of bodyhair of any sort on any gender (though as long as it’s trimmed fairly close it’s acceptable on men)

In my eyes it never went out of style.

When I was but a lad I saw a circa 1983 issue of Penthouse that had an ad (for, I think, “Forum” or “Variations” or something) of a completely bald-shaven woman. It was a straight on view, as if you were kneeling in front of her as she stood before you. The image was absolutely shocking, in among the relatively full bushes of the early 80s models. It was the sexiest fucking thing I had seen, certainly the sexiest thing in the whole stack of mags in my dad’s cache of porn.

It’s not about liking prepubescent girls, it’s about an extra degree of nudity or a high level of intimacy to show something off that’s normally hidden. I love the bald look, and the closer to that, the closer to godly, as far as I’m concerned.

who cares about the hair (actually i do (needs to disappear)) but the real problem hear is that other lady is going to have fungal growth in her vagina.

  • Snowbunny

Yes! Public hair is in again! Thank god I haven’t been shaving in anticipation of this trend.

Seriously though, guys have no idea what an itchy pain in the ass shaving is. There’s a difference in the “forest” people here are complaining about and a groomed bush. But, hey, I have no problem with you wanting somebody to have no pubic hair, as long as you’re willing to do that same.

The completely naked thing never made sense to me. If its all clear underneath how are you ever going to have to “tongue your way” through any hair?

I noticed a few months ago that Sasha Grey actually HAD pubes and was quite happy about it! Unfortunately, the people that have grown up looking at porn probably think that all womens hair grows in neat little strips.

  • FinalFist

ok I see everybody’s point, but still, I feel like a girl with some hair down there is a little more mature.

  • leoscuro

…girls have no hair…when the hair starts growing it means the girl is becoming a woman…if you remove the hair it is kind of getting back to when she was a girl…I am sorry but it feels wrong…

WELCOME BACK HAIR, now please, do not go away…

  • Anonymous

It never went away, it just his in the fetish sections. Always welcome in my book

  • drunkexpatwriter

    Thank fuck!

I was always creeped out by the no hair look.

This looks like something I’d love to see when I go downtown.

Ladies, please dont allow stupid trends or fads dictate how you as an individual style your pubic hair. This is your choice to be made from a comfort and style position that you YOURSELF take. and just one guys opinion, having no pubic hair doesnt make you look like a prepubescent girl, wearing yellow galoshes with ducks on them makes you look like a prepubescent girl.

  • leoscuro

    All kidding aside:
The way I see it is the hair grows there for a reason and is also part of the things that signal “a change of season” (so to speak) regarding sexual maturity. This is a fact of life and it does not matter if for you it does not look like prepubescent, the reality is it does hearkens back to a certain prepubescent dominant male fantasy regarding teens…(i.e. America’s obsession with Britney Spears comes from this same primal fantasy that is replicated trough porn…remember her first album cover?…)
An you know what? If you want to enjoy that, or if you CAN enjoy that…good for you…but I just don’t. And is hard for people like me to find some nice, well done, porn because of this…

I just want the hair to be represented more evenly on the porn industry as a whole.

Thank to sites like Abby Winters the bush has survived on our current hairless status-quo…but they are the exception, no the norm…so this little tidbit kind of makes me happy because it could signal more bush on more productions, hence making me a happier porn cosumer.

  • mordecai1908

Amen and thank God. Now we can get back to basics.

P.S. No natural redhead or platinum blonde should ever be allowed to shave bare – ever.

  • Fedora el Morro

Bush: as long as it stays in my pants and not in your teeth.
