The Village Voice is officially even less interesting now that they’ve axed Fleshbot friend Tristan Taormino and her long-running “Pucker Up” column, due to the same budget cuts that have claimed just about every other decent sex writer they’ve had over the past few years. Good thing Tristan has plenty of other things to keep her busy these days-we’d hate to see all her considerable talents going to waste. (Gawker)

    WWWHHHHAAAATTTT????!!!!!

What the hell is their problem? She was pretty much one of the few reasons I kept up with the Village Voice and I really liked that I could get a regular dose of Tristan in print (well, online) every few weeks. I really enjoy her writing. Damn it, this is depressing. Especially since Audacia Ray also lost her job writing about sex too… is the media becoming more prudish everyday and deciding that no one should be interested in reading that much about sex?

    What a bummer… :(

OK, I do realize that the reason was budget cuts at the Voice, but it still angers me to no end…

Tristan doesn’t need The Voice to rule as hard as she does, but the news still sucks.
