“Pirates II”: Destroy All Monsters!

A mere two years after releasing the teaser, Digital Playground has released the cover art for “Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge”, leading to widespread speculation that the actual movie might arrive by the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010. Featuring a family-friendly, nowhere-near nude septet tableau including Stoya, Katsuni, and Jesse Jane front and center, the cover also features a diverse cast representative of porn’s vaunted crossover appeal, including Belinda Carlisle, The Grimace, and Godzilla.

    Is anyone else getting a sick, selling-crack-to-kids vibe from the Pirates campaign? It’s bad enough that DP is trying to sell porn in a package that contains no evidence of actual porn (it just smacks of an unsavory desperation to be thought of as “legit entertainment”) but it’s a hundred times worse that the package itself seems geared toward 12-year-olds. Who were the geniuses in that meeting?

    Aiming at 12 year olds would get the people at dp thrown in jail and they would be sued by SCUMM like you! and it would be the BIGGEST bonehead campaign EVER,EVER,EVER EVER since this is a porno film for adults and that is the costumers dp wants and needs.
