It sucks that this guy got fired because of porn, but it’s important to note that he is not in the military. He’s effectively a mercenary. He didn’t get discharged, he got fired. He didn’t want to leave Iraq, he wanted to go back. And he probably wanted to go back because these “contractors” make six figures — as much as a flag officer — even at the most basic levels. A highly paid one (which this guy probably was not) can make easily twice as much as the highest paid officer in the US military — more than General David Petraeus, commander of US Central Command.
