2008_06_10_panties.jpgA group of obnoxious busybodies concerned citizens are protesting a lingerie store in Vacaville, California by videotaping customers as they enter and exit the store and then posting it on YouTube. Don’t get them wrong–they’re not against sex or lingerie or anything; they’re just concerned that it will turn their fair city into a pornographic wasteland soon to be engulfed in an all-consuming hellstorm of fire and brimstone. See, it’s all in good fun! (thereporter.com)

God, this is waaay too close to home for my comfort. I’m flat broke, but I have an urge to panhandle/steal money just to go buy some lingerie in Vacaville!

Stupid obnoxious busybodies. Thanks for letting me know, Fleshbot . . . but now my morning is all depressed :(

Outside a lingerie store? Really? That’s the worst target they could find, not even something akin to my favorite seedy, window-less adult shops in Chicago? I guess they have no men in the town interested in seeing their women dressed in sexy lingerie…

Here here! You go citizens! Embarrass those people buying underwear!

I presume their next stop is to be the appropriate sections of the local Wal*Mart and Target. With enough people and enough camcorders they can do them all at once.

This crusade can not be allowed to come to a close until all womens underwear is whipped off of the planet. And oh what a wonderful world that will be.

Being from Vallejo where we also have a Secrets, the name is synonymous with “adult bookstore” (read: porn and sex toy shop), so I see their concern, and the location is a bit of an oddity (it’s right off the freeway, unlike Vallejo’s which is downtown), but to videotape customers and protest because Vacaville is a “family community” is just ridiculous.

@Brian47: My gay college roommate is a Vacavillian, so you never know…

“Take photographs of those who insist on going into the church. As they obviously won’t listen to reason and callously want to “exercise their freedom of choice” to the detriment of society, they must be shamed publicly. You can then identify where these individuals live and harass them at their home, or post their photos on the porn site of your choice.”

We must all pull together to beat the scourge of church addiction.
