Here’s a tip for aspiring filmmakers: If you want to generate a lot of buzz for your upcoming project, be sure to put the word “porn” in the title. Seriously, we have seen dozens of media mentions of Kevin Smith’s new film “Zack and Miri Make A Porno” over the last several months, even though it doesn’t come out until the fall and we still don’t even have any idea what it’s about (though the title helps) or if it’s supposed to be any good. Even the first actual footage from the movie probably isn’t even from the movie–it’s just this teaser trailer full of bad puns and dick jokes that were likely never intended for the final cut. (We’re sure there will be bad puns and dick jokes, just not these.) It does raise an interesting question, though: How do you properly cast a porno? Those cattle calls auditions can get pretty messy.
