Beyond Detention: New Methods In School Discipline

2008_06_06_schoolgirl.jpgWhen we were in school, the most punishment a teacher could mete out was a detention … or if we were really bad, a suspension. Even a literal slap on the wrist was out of the question. But it seems that some schools have different views on keeping their student bodies in line, as evidenced by this video. We have a sneaking suspicion that dealing with infractions using these sorts of methods might actually encourage misbehavior, and we’d be interested to ask this teacher whether they’re successful. Too bad that blurred face makes it a little hard to figure out who he is. Still, if we pay close enough attention we’re sure we can learn something …

Did anyone else do a double-take when they ranked “Darryl Hannah?” Kill Bill wasn’t that long ago, right? LOL

@bzierunkel: Er, that last comment probably would have made more sense if I didn’t have several windows open. At least it didn’t end up on “Good Housekeeping”. And finally!… A Japanese video that blurs out the right “bits”.

Is this for real? Because if it is, that’s seriously f’d up, especially since one chick actually cries and says no (yatta). if it’s fiction, well, good find?

Just not at all easy with nonwilling participants.

beeeee, agreed. I’m also disturbed and wondering if it could be sent to anyone to investigate whether this is real. The cameras never move – there is a noticeable lack of anything indicating this is staged. I’m also cynical enough to think they might not care to do it. I wish I thought that the hosting company cared, but for all I know this is the backbone of their business model. I don’t know Asian languages (despite speaking one rudimentarily enough) to tell whether it is Korean or Japanese (assuming the latter)…perhaps what they say is more, ahem, telling and I can be reassured that I’m overreacting?
