Dave Naz’ “Circa ’82″: Bring Your Own Pop Rocks

2008_06_04_circa82b.jpgSuperstar erotic photographer turned porn director Dave Naz has released his latest opus for Vivid Alt: it’s called “Circa ’82″ and it focuses on the generation of disenchanted young adults who rejected both the hippy values of the counterculture that failed their parents and the rampant materialism of the Reagan years while embracing and angry punk rock music and hot experimental sex instead. Filled with period costumes and set decor, we’re sure it reflects precisely the way things were back then … only since we’re too young to remember those years firsthand (don’t forget, all of us here at Fleshbot are barely legal ourselves) we can’t really be sure.

2008_06_04_circa82a.jpgMatters of verisimilitude aside, it’s still beyond entertaining to see the cast reenact those heady years of social malaise and heavy eyeliner: Sasha Gray fits right into 1982 with her radical pre-Brazilian era bush, while Fleshbot faves Madison Young, Ashley Blue (who helped write the screenplay), Lexi Belle, and newcomer Maya Hills turn in stellar performances as well, all to a soundtrack featuring punk rock legends Keith Morris, Don Bolles, and Jim Lane from Circle Jerks along with 45 Grave, Germs, and Killroy. We’ll be posting an in-depth review of this thought-provoking sex-packed time capsule as soon as we manage to watch the whole thing without getting … uh, caught up in the nostalgia; talk a walk down memory lane with our exclusive preview gallery below in the meantime.

These preview pics look just like the next logical step in American Apparel ads. Can’t wait!

Looks good. Anything with Lexi Belle gets my attention…

This actually looks great. Most “alt” stuff is a bit too much, and it takes itself too seriously… this, though? Looks fun.

  • Come a little Miroslav Klose You’re My Kind of Man

Definitely captures the American Apparel aesthetic — early, early, pre-birth, apparently, Burning Angel. Has definite shoestring budget look, that is, demonstrating its DIY affectation is not just window-dressing, but something a little deeper. I’d watch.

There should be an “even” after Angel.

@Snowbunny: Hey, she’s been a supporter of the bush for years! Dave Naz is one lucky dude.

  • thewriteguy

Looks like a pornorific version of the Cobra Snake scene.

Love the BEE reference by the way…classic! Rules of Attraction made a clever movie with Avery at the helm but the book was infinitely better…

This has a very “Dress to Get Screwed” party vibe about it. Bret Easton Ellis would be so pleased.

  • Snowbunny

THATS what ashley blue grew that bush for. Cool.

  • Snowbunny

@CloudCarrier: Oh I agree! I love the bush and I love it on her. I am going to stalk this DVD Wii style until I can get one and go into my bedroom for a few days.
