World’s First 4-D Sex Tape! (At Least We Think Someone Is Having Sex Here)

2008_04_16_4d.jpgMary Roach’s “Bonk” (not to be confused with this or this) takes a look at the research of sexual physiology–in other words, what’s really going on with our bodies when we fuck, and believe it or not no one really knows for sure. From Leonardo Da Vinci’s “coital interlocking” theory to the frustrated egg breakers of today, lots of people have tried and failed to figure out exactly how Bolt A fits into Slot B. The latest attempt involves 4-D ultrasound movies that can look inside us in real time, and it also involves Mary and her husband, who became the first sexual guinea pigs to be filmed internally while getting it on. She can explain the whole thing better in the video below, and though it may seem a little dry we promise you’ll be rewarded with some hot 4-D porn if you watch the whole thing. (Unfortunately, like most ultrasounds, you still need a doctor to tell you where the penis is. Still!)

isn’t this still just 3d? We have time, but no depth.

  • 1000101 is not a number. He’s a free man!

Yeah, Mary’s husband Ed must have had quite the fun time. Some dude’s holding an ultrasound camera between the two of them, she’s taking notes throughout the sex, and afterwards she tells the world that the sex wasn’t good at all! WTF??!!

Oh yeah, while I’m ranting, fleshbotpdh’s right — that’s not a 4D movie. Let’s just be thankful she didn’t call it iSex or something.

@jackryan1: Indeed. Kinda makes me wish I hadn’t skipped that signing of Stiff in 2003, but those were different times. Off to Craigslist!

Originally, “3D” ultrasound took a flat “section” (2D) and followed it through time (+1D). The newer “4D ” ultrasound composites the 3D pictures and projects them onto a 2D surface (your screen). Sure, it’s only really a 3D projection, but it allows you to rotate the image and see it from the side (as shown in the video), and also adds depth to the unrotated image.
