Lisa Daniels: Heavy Metal, Major Boobage

2008_3_27_ld.jpgBogota’s own Lisa Daniels was somehow shoehorned into two dimensions for a “South Park” episode this week in which she appeared to an hallucinating Kenny after he’d huffed cat urine. The episode, “Major Boobage,” is a takeoff on 1981′s animated (Blue Oyster) cult classic “Heavy Metal,” As one character says in the episode, “You never really get to see her tits,” but — like Tera Patrick in “Aqua Teen Hunger Force”, we have to be happy for the mainstream crossover.     As a fan of South Park, the original Heavy Metal movie for which this clip is based, and well, porn, I need to point out that the song playing in the clip was “Heavy Metal”, by Don Felder of the Eagles, and not Blue Oyster Cult.

    How did a character having a hallucination ever become a trademark of some sort? How can that possibly be seen as copying Beavis and Butthead? If you saw the episode, the hallucination Kenny has is absolutely nothing like the one Beavis had, it’s in the vein of Heavy Metal and somewhat realistic.. Whereas Beavis had an absurdist, abstract and crazy hallucination.

    The shows are polar opposites, other than the toilet humor they utilize. Your comment is wrong on so many levels, really, have you actually watched South Park enough to make and educated opinion on it? It is much more intelligent than what it portrays.
