The Black Devil Doll, a lethal combination of Willie Tyler’s Lester and Chuckie, is a bitch-slappin’, salad-tossin’ wooden badass with an attitude and a “puppet dick” that he demands be serviced. Filmed in Negroscope and rated X by an “all white jury,” this unabashedly exploitive festival fodder recently ran afoul of the Rev. Al Sharpton, who guaranteed the film’s success by calling it “lowest common denominator ‘entertainment’.”
