Abby Winters: Check, Mate!

Abby Winters: Check, Mate! The Abby Winters booth looks like it was filled with all the girls you lusted after in your freshman chemistry seminar, but were too shy to talk to because you were intimated by their naughty honor student good looks. (They were probably smarter than you, too.) I challenged the delightful Marigold (smiling above) to a speed chess match, which she informs me is not a very popular game in her homeland of Australia. America’s raging chess fever notwithstanding, when all was said and done, neither one of us was entirely sure who won the match. Luckily, playing the game of kings against a friendly model has its own rewards, don’t ya think?

On average people will do better playing speed chess, then they would have if they were playing a regular game of chess. I guess a study was done showing this could be speculation as to trusting your gut over overthinking situations. It was an interesting report (I believe it was covered in the New York Times). I know too much random shit. Now if only I could get a job with all of this knowledge…

On the subject of chess, do you, or anyone here know if they make an artfully-done chess board with adult pieces?

    P.s. what’s with the astro-turf?
