2007_11_27_joe.jpgA reverend in the town of Whitewood, South Dakota (population: 800) wants to change the name of Hooker St., because he thinks it’s offensive—even though it was named after Civil War General “Fighting” Joe Hooker and the address is only used by one resident. Which also proves once again that there is nothing better to do in South Dakota. (ap.google.com)

    Can you imagine calling for a delivery at that address, no one would ever take you seriously or calling 911 For that matter.

    Anyone else extremely sick of reverend and the religious douches, this story pisses me off, first of all cause I’m a history professor and second cause this guy is shit.

    I thought that General Hooker was known for his carnal appetites, though. That said, the term hooker, as in prostitute, is not a tribute to the Union officer.
