Speaking of vintage porn and embarrassing moments that never die, an article we came across this week about the phenomenon of celebrity sex tapes reminded us about the forgotten godfather of the genre, Rob Lowe. It might be hard to remember for those of you who were born later than we were that the former Brat Packer was on top of the world when his camcorder antics came to light in 1988, causing a genuine sensation—and it was his TV comeback a decade later that paved the way for other scandal-ridden celebrities. So when we found a couple of short clips available for download, we thought it was only right to share them in the interest of historical preservation. (Note: these aren’t from the underage Democratic Convention episode, but a separate hotel room threeway released around the same time.) It’s a far cry from today’s more explicit, over-produced spectacles, but hopefully you’ll enjoy this little trip down memory lane anyway. Those who forget history are doomed to watch it online.
