“Cashback”

One more reason why Canada just makes sense: The CDC CBC is broadcasting “Cashback”, an Oscar-nominated short film by Sean Ellis that has already been remade into a feature-length production, both on television and via its (excrutiatingly slow-loading) website. According to its official synopsis, the film involves “a London art student with a vivid imagination (who) explains the fine points of getting through the night shift at a dull job”; what that doesn’t tell you is that said art student’s vivid imagination involves mentally undressing every attractive woman who crosses his line of sight. Which is something many of us here at Fleshbot can definitely relate to—maybe it should’ve been nominated for Best Documentary Short instead?

so, might there be another source for this? a friend saw this at a film fest and said it was great, but, yeah, the website loads abysmally slow and it’s an embedded flash movie, which sucks, too. like, help, eh?

‘Cashback’ is available on the Apple iTunes Music Store in the Short Films section for $1.99 – along with 4 other (less fleshy) Oscar-nominated shorts.

Um, ya. That should say “the CBC”? I know the CBC is the Canadian Broadcasting Company, and the CDC is the Center for Disease Control. Not sure what the CDC is doing broadcasting short porn films … maybe to raise awareness of some STDs?

… augh my brain hurts from all the acronyms …
